58th and 47th, this wasnā€™t very good for the EGTā€™s

Everything is proceeding as we had forseenā€¦

ā€¦ though it remains to be seen whether team WRTā€™s estimates for the final 2 stages will prove true. If they are however, it will come down to mere tenths of a second in the final stage between the top 6 places.

Great work again Der Bayer.

Volvo managed to blast its way back into top 10 however it only just occurred to me that Stage 6 is almost 20km of slow bumpy trackā€¦ unfortunately i think that will push the Scandinavian brick well out of finish top 10.

however my Super 1000 RX7 is Loving life and its fairly confident on Top 5 if not a Podium finishā€¦ I think Znopresk might just peg the Golf 1000 on that really long last Stage :astonished:

Woop, a top 3 finish
Now we just gotta see how the final 2 stages will turn out, thisā€™ll prove to be exciting.

Okay, my cars are a big disasterā€¦
Maybe i should have spend more time finetuning the cars, cuz it was a bit rushed.

Anyways, kudos to Der Bayer for the orginasation!!!

Yeah. Everything is going according to plan. Except my Super1000 car is just too slow. X-D

I just realized that we could use leaded gas, so I retuned my S1000 engine and car. Decreased my 0-60 time to 5.5 sec and increased top speed by ~ 8 mph without losing any cornering. Well, next time.

You went pretty well in the second stage, so Iā€™d expect the long stage six will be good for you

Quintus had a mega quick stage four O.o Impressive.

This stage was very much what my car was designed for, so Iā€™m glad it managed to get 4th on that stage, pulling it up to 6th overall. It has very nearly made up for the mid field position in stage 2

That also puts me hot on the heels of Bezerkor and his #1 spot for I6 entries, although by looking at his driveability and the stages that are coming up, and by comparing our times on the previous stages, it looks unlikely that I will be able to catch up, let alone overtake him. I reckon i have enough of a lead to hold onto second of the I6s though, which is still damned good imo.

Going back to the aerodynamics thing I was talking about earlier, Iā€™ve just had a look at my car and its aero efficiency is actually 1.021mĀ², which makes me even more curious about why the aerodynamics of the volvo are so much worse despite the volvoā€™s apparent lack of downforce.

While SME may not be doing well in the BRC, much has been learned! This has been an adventure for our company, who primarily specializes in building V8 OHV engines, in the classic American tradition. The smaller motors were a challenge, and we hope to learn even more once all of the results are in.

On the SME Lasher Mini (S1000 entry), weā€™ve managed to gain 14 spots on the BRC Stg 1 results with some additional motor tuning. The paltry 86.8kW motor which was submitted has been vastly improved to 103.9kW, shaving .7s off the 0-100km times and .4s from the 1/4 mile times, all while maintaining the weight balance and cornering gā€™s of the original car. Once the competition is completed, we hope to analyze the other 5 stages to determine what else can be learned from the venture. For now, it seems the review on the Trump Card was just about spot on!

Not nearly as much has been learned thus far on the SME Lasher (BRC 1100 entry). We do hope to gather a list of other N/A and I6 engines to compare our results. We did not expect to compete well with the Turbo submissions, and it appears we were right. We did think we had a competitive entry among the N/A submissions, but it seems we were lacking there as well. An additional 1.6kW was eeked out of the 3.0L motor, but it did not make a significant impact on the times achieved. Our fears of running mid-pack have unfortunately been realized, as top speed simply wasnā€™t there for the poor Lasher. It did manage a nice 13th finish in Stg2, and this is the sliver lining for this event.

Much thanks to Der Bayer and all of the organizers and contributors, as well as all of the participants!

6th place in BRC, and 35th in Super 1kā€¦ not bad for the quickly built Charge Lite R1-N, and excellent for the Charge R71-T. Iā€™m hoping the 1100 machine will retain a top 20 overall by the end, though Iā€™m not entirely sure thatā€™s possible.

Last Place in Super 1K, hahaha, serves me right for building while being sleep deprived.

BRC 1100 is slightly better, but not my much. Man I suck at this game. haha

well know is my aim to finish in the middel of the field in each class. for BRC 1100 will this be position 40, currently 37th with -0.8 sec to the 40th. and in Super 1000 i aim for position 31, currently 29th with -3.26 sec to the 31th. then i would be on top of the Gaussian distribution curve

Wow that was a real nail-biter, from 5 hours ago I was periodically refreshing this page to see what was going on!

This stage result is somewhat different than expected. We were expecting a charge by the ME Octantis, not for the WRT Turbo cars to lead the stage with this kind of margin. This implies that the stage was, happily for us, faster than we expected.

Kept my position overall in 1100, but now Iā€™m wishing Iā€™d spent far more time with the 1000 car. I feel like I could have actually done fairly better had I spent any decent amount of time actually trying to tune the engine better (and I know I could have more, I did make a better engine not 3 hours after Iā€™d submitted the first time).

Thereā€™s only one direction left to go, and itā€™s down.

My Super 1000 position seems to be very stable, though.

After some calculations, it is my belief that if the average speed of Ulukayā€™s ME Octanis is greater than 104.4km/h, Team WRT Turbo have a good chance of winning the championship, unless, at this speed, the fastest naturally aspirated car (the WRT NA cars) averaged at least 108.7km/h.

It all comes down to how ā€œslowā€ the final stage of this rally really is. Truly a nail biter.

As someone in the top 8 overall, that stage was a bit anticlimactic :stuck_out_tongue: At least I didnā€™t lose any places though
