BRC 1955 - The Golden Age [Qualifying R5]

Okay, my driver is a human after all. He made ONE error, a whopper of 2.7217. But i think my fastest laptime was a little lower than previous.

Maybe time to retune the car a bit, this is still the first one i sent in.

Hrrmm, that was a quick decline to mediocrity! :stuck_out_tongue: Still not changing things though, I proudly race in the mid-field.

Thanks for hearing me out DB

Wow. look at all those 1:40ā€™s. This is getting really competitive.

Iā€™d be interested to see where the highest placed cars are that are using alternate bodies.

Mattmr2ā€™s car is seriously quick. I went all out to hit a top time this time. I couldnā€™t seriously run that car in a race for fear of it imploding.

Regarding tyre wear, no doubt the tyre wear is more pronounced, but I suspect that at this level, the difference between the tyre types is too small to make it worth using the slower tyreā€¦ (Subject to embarrassing correction).

Lost 9 placesā€¦ wellllllllllllll, crap
really donā€™t know what can be changed on my carā€¦ guess its just slow as crap :\

Hi guys!

This last test got me nowhere so now itā€™s time to start rethinking everything again. Things like, does Brake Airflow do anything? It doesnā€™t change any visible stats, does it effect anything in the pre-season simulator? Anyone know?

EDIT: One more question. Are high Drivability and Sportiness scores more important than a good lap time?
Letā€™s say I start with (D/S) 35/22 and a 2:40 lap time, but then I can get the same laptime with 32,5/22. What am I really losing?

Well top 5 now. Only slightly worse tire wear. I dont think that I have any more changes to make now as speed is acceptable and tire wear is acceptable.

Brake airflow changes brake fade and this should influence driveability.
Drivability and Sportiness (or better TrackDrivability and TrackSportiness) go directly into the cornering speeds and laptimes. This is the same in the test track simulation in the game already. The only additional thing in my simulation is the influence on probability of driver errors.

Just in case you want to know: This is the fifth, not yet announced track (replacement for Nordschleife):

Happy guessing!

So brake fade doesnā€™t build over a distance, as in, brakes work less for every lap? Instead they effect lap times as a fixed constant?

Yes, thatā€™s correct.

Good. That means Iā€™ve cut four tenths and itā€™s still holding well into the 2:40ā€™s now :sunglasses: .

SĆ¼dschleife!

Building an all new car based on the mid engined 1945 small body, already sitting at 2:41 and still got some tune left in it. Direct overhead cam has given me a ridiculously flat power band. Only problem so far is top speedā€¦

ā€¦and I canā€™t even go faster than 2:47ā€¦good thing that Iā€™ve retired my car cause surely I would go nuts seeing '45 all over with struggling to qualify on the last placeā€¦I just canā€™t car, and thatā€™s the bottom line, cause Iā€™ve just said so.

My cars performed worseā€¦ Iā€™ll switch back to the orginial one.

A quick heads-up on scrutineering of the current entries:

Currently disqualified would be (I only give one reason for DQ per player, maybe there are more!):

[ul][li]AshleyBlack - Total Cost (plus 0 reliability warning)[/li]
[li]UltimateBMWfan - Total Cost[/li]
[li]conan - Total Cost[/li]
[li]darkjedi - Total Cost[/li]
[li]vmo - Power/Weight[/li][/ul]
Send in a legal revision, please.

Total number of entries so far: 39

Automation states that my total costs are 7818

Btw Der Bayer. I hope it is forbidden for people to make use of the safety car weight bug. Currently if you take a safety package and do -15 quality your car weights less than without any safety.

Like last time: So what, we have a power/weight limit.

It is well known and not banned. Just about everyone is using it right now.
