BRC 1966 - Gentleman Brobots Club [RACE 7 P&Q]

Not one to disappoint by not having a backstory and naff photoshops for a competition car… (I am aware I may be shot for this)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the 1966 Peniston Hurst GT Touring.

With Peniston due to launch a new GT car to the public, they decided the car needed some racing pedigree to drive sales, and so created the GT Touring. Conveniently, due to Peniston being a thoroughly British manufacturer and the recent win by England of the 1966 World Cup, Peniston saw a further advertising opportunity.

(World’s worst photoshop of Sir Geoff Hurst on the bonnet of the Peniston Hurst.

By some miracle (or perhaps the offer of a free car) Peniston managed to get Sir Geoff Hurst to promote and advertise the car, in the process causing a name change to the Hurst, in honour of the man himself scoring a hat trick to win the final.

The car has currently only competed in one race supporting the British Saloon Car Championship, where it looked to be all set to achieve a solid 3rd position, with a 2.2 second gap from the car in front going into the final 3 laps. However the car seemed to find a second wind, and managed to put in a storming performance to win by 4.2 seconds, despite claims of corner cutting on the final lap.

Many attribute this win to sheer luck, and the car is still currently unproven at higher levels of competition.

Tried again, not working.
I checked and none of my cars have strange letters in their names.

Have you typed a strang car name or player name? If you think it could be some issue with the car files, please send the Automation export to me so I can take a look.

I tried it and getting a different error now. Checked the car name and engine name and it’s all easily readable in plain english letters.

Damn it people, fix those extra large wheel housings to match tyre width; the empty space looks terrible!

Did you try deleting that car model 1? Empty families seem to cause problems with the tool aswell.

YES! That worked! Thank you! Working out the strategy and stuff now.

Edit. And somehow my car is also gone now. Have to rebuild it again from scratch

Aye I forgot to put the arches back in before I finished it off, never mind.

I found my problem. I exported every model I made, reinstalled the game, made a quick model just for testing, saved it, then I tried BRCTool and it worked.
I’ll cross my fingers the one car I made for this challenge isn’t the faulty one in the lot.

Changed my mind - looking at the charts, I think the advantage of inters is too much to forgo. Changing the numbers a bit to try to avoid getting hung up in the pits with the people using the default strategy, but that’s it.

Sadly we couldn’t get Sir Geoff Hurst to pose with our car, but I think we got the next best thing.

2:24:69…I don’t even care anymore.

thank you RISO

What did I do?

Question… if I already entered a car. can I still change my entry to an entirely different car? or can I only change the trim of the car I entered? I know I can’t change it during the season.

you can completely change car model and engine as along as it is still within the rules

You gave out your engine

ah thanks… I thought I had a nice engine/body combo but the one I just discovered blows that one out of the water.
I guess I’ll be doing a bit more testing with quite a few other options before I send in the new car so I don’t bother Der Bayer with a few dozen revisions
The car that I sent in will be a decent backup in any case.

Happy to say I’ve sent in a car. Hopefully it’ll be competitive. I’ll be interested to know what people have done, I think my engine will be a bit different than others.

Oh. Well, as long as you don’t mind under 30 reliability it is pretty decent.

Just to be clear, can we use leaded gasoline, somewhere during last season I remember seeing something about low quality gas only.

Yes, we’re all going for the “best” fuel.
