sigh I need to run my car through it’s paces again
Edit, just did. It’s much better than I though.

Just saying i won’t send in my 2:20.xx car untill the last day has arrived for submissions so If there is a test before the deadline, thats not the accual pace of my current car ingame
Any news on the second pre-season test?
Gnnnh … I gotta do it. Thinking it over, there’s just too much time to be had on more aggressive tyre camber and not enough time to be lost to tyre wear, especially with pit stops this fast. Downgraded the safety equipment too for extra aero-quality funds.
For the pre-season test I’ll be doing an experimental strategy where I only stop for fuel, but I expect tyre wear will be significant enough to justify taking tyres, too. If tyre wear is extreme enough I’ll do two stops, but hopefully that won’t be required.
Pre-Edit: I hope it’s not being calculated yet, because I just sent in a new revision of my car.
The next test will be done tomorrow. I rebalanced tyrewear, too. Tyre wear should be a bit higher now.
I forget - what’s the relationship between tyre wear and grip? I seem to remember something like grip=(max grip)*(1-wear)^2 but I might be confabulating something.
Can anyone confirm safety rating relevance to crash chance? Not crash severeness but chance.
Packbat, that ist correct.
Safety having an influence on crash chance does not really make sense in my opion.
Thanks for the quick response! That means tyre grip drops off more slowly as the race goes on, right? I want to be sure so I know how to judge the results of testing re: my tyre strategy.
YES it works you most certainly can revise your car from der Bayers exports… Thank you man! It’s still the best car I have (sadly)
I am trying to send in an updated version of my car and the BRC tool is not working. I can scroll through my trims, but when I choose I get an error message like everyone else is getting.
I hope my cars speed transfers well into B-B-B-BROBOT. On the times you guys are saying it should do rather well I think. Just to clarify, is safety relevant for anything? The crash damage perhaps?
Also, post what the error says and I’ll try to help find the solution.
This is the error:
Squidhead had that problem too, for him it was an issue with an empty family group.
So, see if you have a car with no trims, if so, delete it, see if that works. Seems the program doesn’t like empty trims.
That post and fix was on page 25 if you want to see the original post I am referring to.
Worked!
@Absurdist: I believe that’s the plan:
Weight and safety have any repercussion on crashes/car damage?
The overall car reliability have some influences too?
Would any of the people whose cars took damage in the first pre-season test care to comment on their stats?
Running 5.8 safety, gonna gamble with my drivers life for this pre-season test anyway. If I take damage we will see how bad it is at this low a safety level. Also interested to see how my tire wear goes, probably only need to switch tires once when I stop for fuel. Also running slicks into fairly wet conditions and no inter. switch over, straight to wets, trying to keep stops to a minimum so my top speed can blast me away from everyone else
I managed to get my problem sorted all out (same problem as speedemon, and same solution too)
So, I decided to enter a cross-breed between a Rado and a generic commie car. The commies made the platform, body and engine block, while Rado tuned the engine, installed a second carburetor, installed a less restrictive intake, and increased the redline. Rado also installed advanced safety, as the original had none.

Looking at the summary screen at the I missed at least one incident with mattmr2 - he took ~2.6% more damage than the one incident I caught. (This suggests that he had an incident with only 2.6% damage, which confirms what Denta demonstrates: the amount of damage in an incident can vary enormously.)
Again, if anyone on this list would like to volunteer their car’s Safety, Avg. Reliability, and/or Weight, the above data might provide people with a ballpark estimate of how flimsy they can make their cars.
Sorry for flooding the thread, but I just realized these questions got lost in the backlog somewhere:

Sorry, another question, too: if you pit in because you ran out of fuel, does that count as an emergency pit stop for replacing scheduled pit stop purposes?
