I am doing 1.26 with (yet) not tuned sport suspension, sport tyres and absolutely no balast left so maybe efficiency will be my jam
1:26? Which track is that?? If itās Airfield thatās also a pretty good time. My heavier builds (with a buttload of ballast) would probably struggle to get past 1:27.
oh my mistake 2.26 on automation track
Yes, this solved my problem. Tool is working as expected now. I didnāt see anything about this in the readme file, so I was just following directions!
Installation Instructions
- extract the .zip file
- copy the folder to C:<username>\Documents\my games\Automation
The folder should be in the same folder as the folders āCarsā and āEnginesā - run BRCTool66.exe (as administrator)
I feel like showing off my private racing teamās race livery
FYI: Castrol is oil and Shell is fuel so they arināt clashing sponcers, also BATMAN!
Down to 2:26:x with my ~300hp V8 FWD Not-VW-Bulli is there anyone who is going to try to compete with that body for shits and giggles?
that time is fine
*opens automation
*look at my car time
*āim wasting my time, i should just do my homeworkā
Iāll also add that Iām letting my cars run a bit āheavyā for now, including making safety at least 25 (Iām scared of damage done due to crashing). Im also giving myself a fairly healthy reliability margin (37). If it looks like Iāll struggle in qualifying Iāll just have to amp up the risk
I wonder just how much camber affects wear because I did go quite aggressive with thatā¦
your reliability is 37? is that overall or engine? because my engine alone have 36.7 reliability settings.
also. i might be the only one running sub-150hpā¦ because 524Kg and 0 safety.
Mine does 2:23.83ā¦ And honestly I have no idea how I did that ._.
weight and power?
i chose the smallest body available. but i have the problem of tire width crisis. im maxing out at 175mm. im pretty sure if i can get it to 195 i can get my time as low as 2:21 after some suspension tuning
i desperately need that tire quality slider, but i canāt.
8:57.44 green hell
To those having difficulty getting the tool to load your car, may I ask if youāve got other folders hiding inside your Models, Trims, Families, and Variants folders?
I did, and removing them seems to have allowed it to complete the load.
Yes, that was my current idea, too. I will update the Tool today, but if you want to work with it right now, please try removing any file or folder which is not a .lua file from Cars/Trims, Cars/Models, Engines/Families and Engines/Variants.
The tool wants to read the ID from any file in the folders and if it canāt read the file (because itās the wrong file type) it will crash. I didnāt expect there to be other file types.
oh dangā¦ after chasing all that times. i forgot.
how will rain affects those with slicks and those with sports tires? (and if someone is nuts enough, mediums?)
Oh, I think I know what my problem is then! I didnāt finish cleaning out old files from previous builds and I note in the log that whenever I start up Automation it has difficulty with a great deal many of my files but otherwise works fine. Iāll flush them out and see if this fixed my problem.
EDIT: wait, no, then why would 3 of my 4 BRC test builds work just fine and this particular one that I actually want to send it not!?
I predict that your gonna have some tyre wear issueās If you are going that fast.

That is why Godā¦I meanā¦Der Bayer, created pit stops! And I am actually going quite a bit faster than that.

I remember from the video something about switching to rain tires, if it is raining. Otherwiseā¦screeeeeeeeeeeeechā¦CRASH!
Yes, you can switch to intermediate and wet tyres. If you have chosen semi slicks your tyres will wear faster than if you had chosen medium or sports compound.
The Tool has been updated. Please download again if you had problems.

Iāve deleted the āoldā and āthumbsā folders from engines and cars folders and now i can load any car!!
EDIT: with the old tool
EDIT 2: the new tool wonāt load the trim with the āoldā and āthumbsā folders alsoā¦ but if i remove them, it works fine!
Der Bayer
if this
is set up at 20% (as default), does is mean that stop will occur when there is only 20% tyre life left of 80%?
And does tyre degradation leads to slower lap times or more chance to crash? Aaaand also what are damage effects (or maybe better how severe are they)?
The tool doesnāt like āCapsā , my name is exported as " obthe iend". Looks very strange.
Off-topic, but I figure I should let people know just to minimize future confusion: Iām actually a trans woman. I figured it out late 2014, but Iāve been taking my time with coming out, because I abhor awkward conversations. I know itās almost entirely irrelevant to the competition, but I figure someone is likely to refer to me with pronouns sooner or later, and they might as well be the right ones.
Anyway, on to the actual topic: ponies.
I mentioned before that I wanted to build an FF or RR car for this, but when I decided to build an FR Trans-Am car on a lark, I ended up with this rockstar right here. Itās not got the highest top speed of the test cars I built and itās not got the best cornering, either, but itās close - and itās got almost zero tyre scrub at any speed, relatively mild camber front and rear, 275 horsepower from an all-aluminium 3.3L V8, and a big enough tank to run 90-minute races with only a single pit stop for fuel. Iām feeling really good about it.
Hopefully this will be the #33 car, that being my finishing position in the 1955 BRC.
