BRC 1976 - Under Pressure [E8-Q]

92 CAM, baby!

I simply can’t squeeze more power out of the engine without adding more quality (+5), which I can’t afford.

Even simpler: They were push-rods. Cheap, reliable but bad for everything else.

Economy at high rpm is the only thing that matters for race engines.

quality points? pfft i don’t need them

because it’s making me go overbudget :frowning: because v12

I wanted to try a v12 but only small ones fit so here we are.

well, even if it’s small, it has higher specific output purely because of the higher rev it’s capable of.
it has the advantage of high power to weight ratio with it’s relatively low capacity

and i just noticed…
the family is from 1975. why?
carb… why?

I guess I will throw my engine up here as well.

Baby V8…

Because I already had it lying around.
There is no difference between an engine designed for 1975 with a trim of 1976 or an engine family from 1976.

As I wrote earlier, it worked out better that way.
I expect to see @Lordred and @07CobaltGirl to join me in carb land. Else I would be very disappointed!

Looks like you cut off the revs there. Your driver is now shifting a lot beyond the good point! You are giving up performance!

like riso said

give it like maybe an extra 500-600 RPM above the peak power, sacrifice some reliability, and you’ll get at least 0.5s per lap

Except in my case, it was more like a second…

Oh well, I will try to remember that for next time, but there is not much I can do about it now.

has the deadline for submission passed yet?

Deadline was yesterday, 4pm CEST

oh, that’s why he said it’s too late…

boy i’m lucky i submitted yesterday :stuck_out_tongue:

And onto the engine sharing grounds:

Combined with the RR nonporsche body a great combo. Did 0-100 in 3,6 sec until I found better lap times with lower spacing

Went down the V6 route. Not voluntarily tho, the truck Polonez just doesn’t fit V8s very well :stuck_out_tongue:
Could’ve made it more powerful with ease (up to about 380HP) but just didn’t feel it was worth it for the reliability and fuel economy. Oh well.

as usual, v8s are dominating the field once again…

There’s mine then.

well im also too late sending my revision about 20 minuted pass the time limit…

dunno if Der Bayer gonna accept it, but if not its fine since it only about 0.80 second faster. plus today i just realized if the turbo spoil earlier it make me extra 0.50 more faster…

nah, it’s not really a ‘hard’ limit, usually a maximum of a few hours after the deadline are tolerable, depends on who is it though.

also i think you meant spool?

Some V12 Turbo Power, just to be different

EDIT: Fuel economy at full throttle isn’t exactly what you would call ideal

yep, still by what you saying i kinda doubt he will accept it

It does not depend on who it is but on how you ask. And I prefer to do such things after the deadline via PM. Send it within the next two hours and it is in, else it is not.

edit: I just saw you actually sent in the car yesterday. So no problem at all. Entries are closed now that I start working on the trump cards.
