Maybe someone could update the first post?
It’s quite challenging to find information on BRC related updates in that thing you call a forum:
- when is a deadline?
- when is the race?
- when will a training run happen?
Currently it looks like that:

Well that is the hope, as always!
I’m quite happy about the practise really low wear and consumption and still in top 15, despite the long gearing I have compared to most. That means one stop is possible (gotta get my calculator and them weather graphs) and so is top 10 finish.
@Puffster it seems we are quite closely matched . About the predictions… I’m glad you go in organising data, because otherwise there would be emptiness caused by Packbat not joining (could someone smart reuse sheets from 66 and put fresh data in?). However the prediction wasn’t correct in qebrc and I think (maybe hope) it will be the same this time.
And how do i make sure my car does:
start on wets
stop at around 30-35% of the race for inters
stop around 60% for slicks
i have absolutely no clue how to do that with the brc tool
PSA: Rain intensity levels in the forecast are NOT the same as track humudity levels in the tire graphs. Rain intensity may be 75% at the start but the track humudity might be at 100% already.
This also means that when the rain intensity goes to zero about 65% of the way through the race, the track will not be completely dry (and may in fact not be dry before it starts raining again at the end)
@mer_at dude cut the guy bayer some slack… he’s doing hell of a job and you (let’s be honest) are acting a bit…well let’s say a bit unfriendly
That was on 5.8.
We do not know yet and what training run?We had 6 pre-season tests and now practise for the first race what training run?
dude come on it’s not your first brc. You know you can’t do exactly that but can set a % of where to change to certain type and/or % or race when you want your car to stop. If you do not want to have unplaned stops just set the “replace req. stop” at 0 and your car will only stop when you set. I belive this things are written in readme file of brctool…
So?
Still no answer to my question.
e.g. if the track has 65% humidity, what do i need to set in brctool to have my car on wets?
there are so much combinations, and absolutely no clue what brobot does on the start of the race!
also - if i see that the track will be wet, i want brobot to put less fuel in my tank than it would do on a dry track.
dont want to carry again 15kg around the whole race, i’ll never use anyway.
If we could set the fuel and tires models, that would not be an issue. but we cant.
I thought Der_Bayer said earlier that you will start on tires matching your strategy based on the track’s starting humidity?
Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought I saw that at one point.
Basically, if you tell you car to switch to inters at 35% humidity and the track starts at like 38% humidity, you would start on inters.
but the track humidity has nothing to do with the rain intensity.
with intensity at ~65% for 30 minutes, we can assume the track will eventually have 65% humidity after a few minutes.
that sounds very frustrating - again …
i want my car on wets at the start, since we got a forecast …
but if the track is at 10% and rain intensity at 65% (with 30 minutes of 65% rain in the forecast), i would NEVER start my car on slicks. Brobot will
Put the values in and send only the Info.lua file from the export to Der_Bayer.
You automatically take only enough fuel to the next planned pitstop.
So if the rain starts at 65% there will also be 65% humidity at the start.
Ok that is good.

Wasn’t the case in the last BRCs. Always had way too much fuel, since we use less fuel in rain, and brobot calculates based on the dry practice. Which is especially bad if you got a car that has an excellent fuel economy, since you’ll never get rid of the excess weight.
It might not be that accurate, but
and the most important:
Well that’s the lottery. Can’t do anything about that …
I could just take 25% less fuel on a hunch, and if needed, make my pitstop 2-3-4 laps earlier.
Long story short is that the BRC is not a live race simulator. You’re the CEO of a car company in Automation, not an F1 engineer or NASCAR crew chief. BRC is an amazing simulator in the fact that we have a competitive quasi-live race between several cars that we all build. However, it’s not in-depth enough to be able to handle on-the-fly strategy changes. I’m thrilled we have this much input. I would love to have the capability to make audibles in terms of strategy, but I’m not going to expect that from Der Bayer when he does all of this in his free time.
Now it may have been answered earlier, but to be clear, your car pits to change from slicks to wets based on track humidity, not rain intensity. It’s the amount of water on the track that determines your grip capabilities, not how fast it is falling.
I’m in a very similar position. I was building a NA car throughout the testing period with one, very rough, turbo thrown in in test 5.
Then over the Saturday just before the deadline I decided the NA was too slow and 0.98 was too undriveable, so… I canned it and rebuilt the turbo from the ground up. There are some similarities, but it is very much not the same car I tested.
Apparently it has also seriously pulled back on fuel consumption while I wasn’t looking
But yes, the top is incredibly close so anyone could take it. I’m sure someone will. Should be good and tense.
Do we still only need to send in one of the export files for the race strategy?
Yes.
Wow, this looks like it’s going to be a very competitive season.
Cheers bro.
To be clear, is the % of race based on laps/distance?
Laps
