BRC - Out of the Steam - 1945 [Final Race Results]

I got 10th, we will see if my driver rookie Cole Trickle continues his pattern of hitting just about everything on the track.

Pitstops for us has been fuel, tires, fenders… and not necessarily in that order

So THAT’S where that fender I nearly hit at 12:05 came from.

(I had an error that cost me a lot of time around 12:05)

Ok, seems I’m 6th overall in the training. I’m happy with that.

The good news? My car will most likely qualify this round as well.

The bad news? My car still SUCKS!

:open_mouth:

Welcome to my boat CobaltGirl

Oh, I’ve been in your boat. I can finally say, I did get POINTS this week. (13, just like my number) So I’ll always have that…however little comfort it may provide by the end of this season.

I got points last week

My wording could have been better. I wasn’t sayin I have points and you don’t. I just meant I have points, so I am satisfied (for now).

I think that’s the good thing about the reverse grid races. It mixes it up so that we get some surprising results. I mean, ZatoM did very well for himself last race. Just feel for Trackpaduser who’s driver seems to be so polite that he refuses to overtake anyone on principle so he ends up losing a lot of points.

Honestly I can’t exactly work out why, I mean, there or there abouts it’s incredibly similar to my car and mine seems to pass quite well. And in qualifying and race 1 we keep seeing that it is indeed a very, very quick car. And here again, 3rd in training.

I’m also noticing how close it is. 3rd to 8th is less than a second apart in terms on fastest lap. So qualifying should be exciting!

@Absurdist: If I had to venture a guess, your wider power band gives you a better 80-120 time than TrackpadUser’s and that’s making a big difference. Cornering speed is excellent, but if you get held up on corner exit by someone who accelerates faster, then you lose a lot of time because you don’t catch them up again until the next corner … whereas if you get held up by someone who accelerates more slowly, you have an immediate opportunity to attempt the overtake again and get clear.

the target that i have set myself now is just to get more points than you CobaltGirl

I can’t see my car being a regular in the points

Way to set the bar low! Getting more points than me could probably be achieved simply by showing up and not getting a DNF. hahahaha

Take note that qualifying every week was not listed as a requirement to beat my points, as I’m nearly CERTAIN I will not qualify for the GH race!

Im crossing my fingers and hoping that i qualify for the automation test track

Hell no. I bet you I could out-qualify you in every race, and still not score any points, because due to my lack of real power and ability to fight traffic, I will be one of those mediocre cars that are just fast enough in the first race to be far enough down the order to miss out on points in the second race too. Every single time.

I am certain you will bounce back in the 1955 season.

Well, it wasn’t really directed at you, strop. You didn’t set the goal. hahaha

But, have you been watching my car at all? I assure you there is nothing special about it.

I only have points from sheer luck. (car number 13 received 13 points for a 12th place finish plus leading 1 lap, which was actually only on the front straight for about 8 seconds) I can’t fight traffic, can’t corner, can’t accelerate, and don’t have top speed (although my top speed is also higher than yours). Watch my car on ATT and see how quickly my car gets passed in traffic. I started 14th in the reverse-grid ATT race and by the end of the esses I was in 38th with no crashes or errors.

2.87 times more torque, 1.45 times the power, AND 1.45 times the weight… those poor, poor tyres.

Yep, and that is probably one of my single biggest issues. hahaha I’m at .5 grip front and rear after every event. :astonished:

EDIT: Since this originated between 3rayman3 and myself, I’ll include his trumpcard as well. We are actually pretty comparable, but rayman is also quite comparable with strop as well.

it seems that yours is better in a straight line whereas strop is better around corners and mine sits awkwardly in the middle

That’s what I was thinking.
