Classics/legendary cars

I was wondering if you guys were planning to have some sort of game mechanic where models that sell a lot would become legendary.

I’m imagining this would mean the model would sell for a very long time. Also, it would work as a bonus if, a few years down the road, you wanted to reintroduce the model (basically building a similar car and giving it the same name). I’m now sure how exactly this should work game design wise, but it seems cool. Kinda reminds me of sequels in game dev story, where if you had a really successful game, you could capitalise on it by making sequels, which had a reputation boost or whatever.

what do you guys think?

As we will be tracking things like brand awareness and image (for the company / car series / cars), this is kinda a given that we’ll at least try to implement the mechanic you are talking about  it is a good idea we were toying with as well.

Yeah, I figured as much.

I was just picturing some sort of in-game achievement or whatever. Something that makes you feel like you created that worlds Mini cooper or VW Beetle and not just some statistic on a financial report. But maybe thats what you guys are planning already.

I don’t think “Achievements” is the right term to use, as you basically get them for walking two feet without dying in “modern” games.
But yeah, I get your point. There would be some feedback required to indicate that car’s status.

Maybe a “Hall of Fame” within the game, where you can view the most successful (and maybe least successful) cars that you have made.

Killrob - Exactly. I think I’m not explaining myself as best as possible but you’re definitely understanding me

Machalel - Yeah, that would be cool too, but I think its a separate idea.

It would be cool to do like many manufacturers do, and open a museum with your best/weirdest cars. Might give some income in the tycoon part :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe it could have some parameters for if you rereleased the car. Like the same type of engine. Basic layout. Things like that.

i wanted to post this same idea, most car brands have ones, or maybe “garage” where you can look at your cars and compare them or “reinvent” (make this same or slightly modified body and new powerfull engine)

Retro models 25-40 years after the original?

Why not?
