Cool Wall Three: Not Cool (Complete!)

Is there an ET/PU or quality requirement?

given the wide-ass range of years, i would guess not.

Ok, the full list is almost done, just the massive list from @Odyssey_Fan left. However, I will be taking questions and re-evaluating cars for the next few days, so… Feel free to ask.

I’ll start the first question: does the presence of convertible top vs hardtop affect a car’s cool wall score? Or does it only affect some cars?

I ask because I put 2 convertible versions of cars in my requests (Geo Metro and Nissan Murano), but the “convertible” status was only mentioned on the spreadsheet for one of them.

It does, I just forgot to note it.

BTW, if other concept cars are binned, the Ford Carousel should be too, IMO.

I was actually thinking that too, being that I was the one who suggested the Carousel. I was thinking in terms of if it had actually made it to market, but if other concept cars got binned then it’s only fair (I won’t comment on how likely a Deora would’ve made production lol).

On the cool wall I’m not sure what the numbers for “obscure” and “Auth” are telling me but, I find it odd how the Carousel and the Caravan have a big difference in numbers despite being virtually the same vehicle. Its just an observation, it might mean something, might mean nothing idk.

Well, as far as obscurity goes, it’s not surprising that a one off concept that only us car geeks know about gets more points than something that sold in the hundreds of thousands. Can’t really say about authentic points though. I’m guessing that due to the Carousel being older or something?

It’s mainly that it looks weird because of the concept-ness of it - which is why it’s now binned.

The rules have been updated, and a changelog has been added. I will hopefully have the nicer version of the wall done tomorrow.

Will interior design be judged?

There was a slight typo in the original, let me expand though…

I originally said “3D fixtures are not required, but will make certain points easier to get.” That was a typo, and should have read 3D interiors.

3D interiors will be considered in positioning cars on the wall. A cool car with no interior is still cool. A bland car with no interior is still bland. A cool car with a bad interior does worse, while a bland car with a cool interior does better.

TLDR: It’s a tool you may choose to use, but interiors will not actively grant points.

So, I read that as if I make an interior that has all the important stuff there, but isn’t the most well detailed in the world, the chances are slim that it will make or break the car.

That’s correct. If you do an objectively bad one, or an absolutely great one, it’ll help - but a competent or absent one will be around the same. It won’t make or break a car. It’s optional.

The first Miro board of all the cars is up! I chose this as it was easier than wrestling to make a bunch of images. It can be viewed at Miro | Online Whiteboard for Visual Collaboration

The second one is still being worked on, and should be up soon. Once it’s done, I will edit the post to include the link and the new deadline.

  1. What is the difference between normal and neutral?
  2. What does commercial mean?

It’s fluff, should have explained that.

Commercial: -20
Normal: -10
Neutral: 0
Cool: 10
Ice (Un)cool: 20

I will probably change it later, when it’s not nearing midnight for me.

Edit: Ok, seems Miro needs a login just to view. I tried exporting as a PDF, but uh… Yeah, not gonna work. Please vote in the poll, I will make a decision in around 18-ish hours.

  • Continue on Miro
  • Find another graphical option (will take several days to implement)
  • Add image links to the google doc

So, just to make sure, Ice Uncool is good, right? Otherwise my build is in trouble. :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit: also, not sure what’s up but I was able to view to board without logging in by just following the link.

Yes, it grants +20 points being there. The google doc is the definitive source of points rankings.
