how important is interior

The OP didn’t mention anything about detailed interiors - so you don’t have to fit one to your entry.

you don’t have to, but design is weighted highly, and i do count interior as part of the design.

This is my first time doing this so if I did something wrong, let me know.

The 1998 Tamago Nihatsu is a last ditch effort by the company to become profitable by importing and slightly restyling an older European KRL Dvest. The Linea Mini Turbo under the hood provides 110hp to the front wheels through a 6 speed adv. automatic gearbox bringing comfort and speed to the driver.

The Carota Ca is the product of Fruinian Italian company Carota, but much of the engineering is American owing to Fjord’s controlling stake in the company during the 90’s and early 2000’s. In particular the large (for a compact car) 1.8L motor is an American preference. This Primo trim example is available for $13,700 and includes the best available interior and stereo system as well as patented XX-TRA LARGE cupholders and rear disc brakes. The scratch-resistant and cheaply replaceable unpainted plastic bumpers are common to all trims.

Vizzuri 1000 Stradale '98

Shown in Azure with White stripes package and Black Alcantara accented by Beige leather interior

Introduced in 1998, the Vizzuri 1000 Stradale: a sporty lightweight with throwback styling to the 940 TCR Berlina Corsa/Stradale of the mid 1960s. It was created with the intent of homologation to the upcoming FIA 2-Litre WRC / Super 2000 touring class.

In “Corsa” racing trim it would feature a N/A 2 litre engine, however in “Stradale” road trim it would feature a peppy 998cc Inline 4 able to rev up to 9,000rpm and achieve 102hp @ 8,100rpm whilst weighing only 934kg. Performance was somewhat held back by the lavish premium interior which included the Vizzuri GPS system, partial touch-screen display, four high-end speakers, two removable luxury luggage compartments; one with the driver toolkit and one for intended holiday usage or shopping. However it was still capable of 0-62mph in 8.9s, 137.5mph top speed, and 1.03g in cornering.

Weight was balanced at 46/54 with most on the rear, a spare wheel & tyre is stored in the frunk, and the fuel tucked behind the luggage area and engine bay to try avoid snappy driving behaviour on low fuel. The frunk and trunk are both clamshells for weight savings as well as usability, the entire front and rear can clip off or be held towards either end on struts.

SM5 Soaura Lynx 1000 S
1996 saw the release of the SM5 Saberin Soaura. Some customers, however, were unsatisfied with the further increase in size that the vehicle saw. Saberin saw to tackle this with an extensively shortened version - dubbed the Soaura Lynx - based off of the SM5 Soaura's chassis. Further downsizing, to kei car spec, would have been impossible without costly re-designing. Nonetheless, the subcompact is substantially smaller, and substantially lighter, in-line with the SM1 and SM2 Soauras of the past.

The Soaura Lynx also received a completely different face from the full-size Soaura, with a cutesy blob-like shape. Not quite aerodynamic due to the headlight cut-outs, but sleek looking. It also received another engine, a 999cc Ilaris inline-3, supplied by the parent of the business. The engine suppied 82.5 horsepower at 6500 RPM, and with the automatic transmission, it was good for 10.7 seconds to 100. The engine was also notable for its lean-burn, although that had to be toned down significantly to fit within emissions regulations. The engine, as is the norm with the brand, is positioned in the rear.

The SM5 Soaura Lynx came in a handful of trims; Economy, Sport and a SaberSprint R trim, each adding more comfort and performance features. Additionally, three engines were offered: 800cc, 1000cc, and 1200cc, although the last was reserved for the SSR trim and was often too shaky for the lightweight car. A manual gearbox was standard, but CVTs and automatics were offered.
