2009 Hwaseung Asilar SE⁵

Lore

First introduced in 2006, the fifth generation Asilar continues to be a pillar of Hwaseung’s lineup. Mildly updated for 2009, the Asilar recieves a new 1.6L 16-valve inline-4, producing 100 horsepower and 129lb-ft of torque, as well as a new IVT (Infinitely Variable Transmission), replacing the prior model’s 4-speed automatic, though a 5-speed manual continues to be offered. Also new for 2009 is our brand-new manufacturing plant in Žilina, Slovakia, meaning easier production and transport of Hwaseung models, such as the Asilar, throughout central and eastern Europe. Shown here is the SE⁵, the 5 door hatchback body style, which increases interior space and practicality over the 3-door hatchback model. Painted in Maroon Red Metallic with standard 16-inch alloy wheels, AM/FM radio with an auxillary 3.5mm connection, a 4-way power driver’s seat, Dura-Tex cloth seating material, cruise control, and more, this Asilar carries an MSRP of $12,500 as shown.

2009 Mara Zora 1.1 KE

The third generation Zora debuted in 2005, carrying over the unique 9V 3-cylinder engine from the second generation model which received a bump up to 62 hp.

The Zora’s main focus were the budget city, commuter and family car markets of Archana and Fruinia. It nevertheless also received a Komfort Extra trim, equipped with alloy wheels and amenities such as electric front windows, uprated audio speakers and electric power steering, among others. The most recent facelift also brought it into line with upcoming legislation in core markets.

Emoses unmistakable style now shouts even louder. Chunky front bumpers, a new front grille and a range of stylish colours give you even more presence on the street.

The Emos petrol engines have 16 valves and drive-by-wire throttles, so they accelerate eagerly and cruise easily. There are three to choose from: 1.1 litre, 1.3 litre and a 1.6 litre. The choices offer a blend of performance and fuel economy to suit all types of driver requirements. With its compact exterior and small turning circle, it’s easy to park on congested city streets. The standard Electric Power Steering offers variable assistance and self-centring action finely tuned to the car speed. It also features damping control to measure steering angular velocity and speed to improve stability. ABS keeps the wheels from locking – keeping you in control of the car. The Electronic Stability Program available with the manual 1.3 petrol, and above, relies on electronic sensors to monitor wheel speed and steering angle. To help keep you in your intended direction on slippery roads and in emergency manoeuvres, the system reduces engine output and applies braking to individual wheels to correct under- and over-steer.

I’ve only just realized that your Poirot P2 has a lot in common with the Homada Mocha in the post immediately before yours - both are based on the same body set and style, with a similar sky-blue metallic exterior color. But which of the two will finish higher up the order? That’s something worth waiting for when the final results are announced.

Interesting to see all those slightly anachronistic large I3s. I haven’t really tested that yet, so I wonder if they’re actually more efficient than comparable I4s.

I did choose an I3, but one that displaced only 1.0L at most, and made 75 bhp - perfectly adequate for an entry-level city car.

Looks is a 3 star priority and they are much different designs

A lot of beautiful designs here, nice

In a CSR, thats often the case. But whenever you enter early and the design masters come late, you feel then ashamed because they make your car look like you played another game
