Missed mine.

You didn’t actually send the entry to me, looking through you only posted it in the ad, which I wasn’t looking at. It says in the rules post to send a DM to me.

I genuinely do not see that in the rules. Regardless can I send it now?

Call it one of those unwritten rules, 99.9% of forum challenges will require you to send the car file somewhere that the host will be able to see it. Judging as I didn’t write specifically where to send it I’ll give you that technicality. Imagine if I had to go and find every single entry though, there would be people posting it in their own lore threads and god knows where else. You’re also new here so I get it, I’ll let you off but it’s partly my fault anyway.

Well, so much for that. Daughter had it for barely over a week and managed to get six speeding tickets, two of them aggravated, and one reckless. With the last, I had to pick her up from the traffic stop, managed to talk the trooper out of having the car towed. License revoked (not suspended) means her next drive will be in something like a Flint or Mara, and not anytime soon.

Not that I’m too surprised. Yall weren’t kidding; this thing does a great job convincing you to go faster and faster. @DCMWfan420, thank you for letting me drive your S4x4 and T6x2. I see what you meant by “velvet hammer minus the velvet”. It still has a hint of its luxobarge stablemates’ refinement, but is a much more raw car to drive than even the S. Yet so easy, so docile, it’s like a tactical nuke with controls by Fisher Price.

So it’s for sale. $31100 is what I have in it, including a new set of Sport tires (yeah, I know the optional semislicks are Hot Schtuff around here, but this was going to be a daily that had to handle rain). Needs nothing except a more mature driver. Or, I suppose, one skilled enough to not get stopped.

@fu55ypu55y, @nordwangan, @tylerD, and @SUPREMACY, thank you for confirming that it’s authentic. The previous owner swapped the RS bodykit for a regular S and removed the decals, but it’s a real RS underneath: pushrods front and rear, not much of a frunk. Loud and hard, just comfortable enough to tolerate a drive to the racetrack where it really belongs.

It doesn’t belong in my garage, anyway; no Blart is that young and dumb. Get it outta here! Forum members have first dibs.

I am well and truly honored to see Flint mentioned right there alongside @AndiD’s Mara brand as a byword for boring, practical transportation! You know, if PBjCyberite wants something a little bigger than an Asteri, I bet he could find an old '96 Sentinel in Endurance trim for cheap to give to his lead-footed daughter. With 130 horsepower, a 10.4 second 0-60 time, and styling described as “like lined notebook paper,” what more could he want to humiliate his daughter?

That depends… wide-ruled or college-ruled?

CW8 BINS

Unfortuntely there are a few bins to hand out.

@Kreator
Reason: Under price minimum. This one was a way under the limit at 8900, I can’t really see that being a mistake unfortunately. Maybe there was some engineering changes that made the reliability lower and thus the car worth less. Stats below average in every field other than service costs which were higher than average, so it doesn’t look like Lukas will be missing much.

@Ch_Flash
Reason: Under price minimum. This one kinda sucked, because it’s a great looking car. Im guessing same sort of reason as before but its 9900. Again, below average everywhere apart from service costs (Third highest!)

The first round judged will be Coolness

This was honestly the first time I’ve heard of the “price minimum”. I scanned the rules in the main post and didn’t see it listed, so I was under the assumption that there was none when I submitted.

Looking into it more, it seems the calculator I copied over was an older version, one that does go “red” when outside the price range, but it doesn’t show the price range. Using the newer version would’ve caught the problem.

If the calculator update with the price range was announced in this thread, I probably missed it from the high volume of CW inspirations coming in.

In no way am I trying to plea for a bin reversal, but I wish the allowed price range would’ve been included in the main post with the rest of the rules for clarity so that I could’ve addressed it before submitting.

Yeah, I mentioned it here. Funnily enough right before you posted your ad. Also in the calculator as you say going red (at max or min prices) even without a description I would’ve thought that would be enough to say that the price isn’t going to work. The main reason I didn’t put a price in the original post but instead referred people to the calculator is because I didn’t want people to jump to assumptions and just use the ingame price, because people don’t read all the way through and would miss the calculator. Atleast if they used the calculator it would be slightly intuitive.

How ironic.

On paper, yes it should, but I’ve never seen that calculator go green in developing the Moxie since it was so old and cheap. 8900 was the highest price I got out of it, and the Moxie was the only car I considered for CW8.

I understand that too.

I’m not blaming you for anything here, I just wish it was a little more obvious to me. Ah well, better luck next time.

At least to me, that sounded like you were acknowledging a quirk of/flaw in the calculator, not announcing a rule. I had no idea you actually intended to enforce it as such.

Technically, yes, it was there, so there’s no dispute to be had. But especially given how unusual having a price minimum is (I don’t think I’ve ever seen another challenge with one), it should have been more explicitly stated that that was a rule in the original post.

COOLNESS

The cars are in the order I imported them. Score from 0-40.
28 cars to go through.

@AKA_NOBUDDY
2000 CBC Carrier SX

Light, mean and sporty. This ticks all of Lukas’ boxes.
36/40

@bang6111
1997 Revuelto Calista

A supercar is quite cool even if it’s not quite what Lukas is looking for, there’s no denying the appeal of a car like this.
31/40

@DuceTheTruth100
2020 DDS Rayzr

A big powerful engine also leads to a heavy car, not to say that it’s bad overall, far from. It’s just a little too ordinary.
25/40

@abg7
1995 LVC LS35 3.2

Another supercar, very similar to the Revuelto Calista in power and sex appeal but a fair bit lighter.
34/40

@George
1994 Kaze 660 Mono

Ridiculously light, and ridiculously stupid. A Kei spec engine tuned up to double the horsepower it should have. Along with the looks, the fibreglass panels don’t help that overall it seems like it was built in someones shed.
That being said, it doesn’t completely miss the mark. This car has 21 exterior fixtures and it shows.
10/40

@Happyhungryhippo
2009 Cavaliere Nobile Teramo 2000t

Fits the spec, it’s just a shame it’s so heavy
26/40

@karhgath
2017 Phénix Alcyone Targa XS

Light, well balanced and it looks like a supercar.
37/40

@Knugcab
2005 Rauk Urd

I was very much wishing someone would do this. What a car!
39/40

@kookie & @vero94773
2016 Dalmas élysée3 DSi

Very modern with lots of gizmos to help driving. Unfortunately that results in it being very heavy. 5 doors doesn’t help either, and adds to the feeling of being ordinary and just a little bit boring.
15/40

@mart1n2005
2015 Vertex Chiltern Sprint

Very light, and despite the fibreglass panels it looks like it was built in a professional garage, not just a project car “out back”.
37/40

@oldmanbuick
2016 Constellation N724 R-Spec

Another modern entry, for its size it’s fairly heavy, but it’s got some power to slightly offset that.
27/40

@Sealboi
1999 SKCC C-80 MBV8

The balls to submit what is essentially a road legal group C car is astounding. That alone is enough to ignore the underpowered engine, the heavy weight despite all the weight reduction it should have, I will even ignore that this was built on a legacy body just to give it a fighting chance.
32/40

@Texaslav & @debonair0806
2003 Somervell SBP Switchblade 140 Special

Light, power is well balanced and the styling is pleasantly 00’s.
32/40

@the-chowi
2020 Llud Elene R295

Light, powerful and angry, this looks like it would be a lot of fun.
38/40

@toxicnet
2002 Rocket - Jupiter S

Heavy for its size, underpowered for it’s weight. The formula is there but the execution is not.
14/40

@Ultimate_Billy
1996 Bovos Pike S

For having AWD, this car is light. Carbon panels and a small V6 definitely help.
29/40

@xsneakyxsimx
1980 Chèvre Panier - MR-6S

Very light, but also very underpowered.
27/40

@ThatEpicBob
2016 Kuruma C2 4-210

It is light, it’s also fairly plain in the looks department. To top it off, a laggy turbo would be frustrating to drive with.
24/40

@AndiD
2012 Mara Paragon Kabriolet 2.3 SE42 by N7 Garage

Neither here nor there.
The longest name award goes to…
20/40

@Edsel
1972 Aero 848

Old timey but it’s light and a deathtrap, doesn’t need much to get your heart pumping.
31/40

@moroza & doesstuff
2013 Nordwagen Loki RS 4x4

Gorgeous is how the mother who birthed this would describe it. It’s also how everyone else would describe it, a screaming redline and a sub 1000kg weight this car certainly announces it’s arrival loudly.
38/40

@tsarchasm
2020 N660 / NipponRacing

Super light, but also still a kei spec car. so 9.1s 0-60 is fairly miserable. Still, if you could keep the speed up I’m sure it’d be fun.
30/40

@Danicoptero
1980 Superlite Tango 115S

Yes yes yes, this is what Lukas was looking at when he was astral projecting in his dreams. Light as a feather with punchy acceleration.
40/40

@Isabella
1982 Hexe Mildred BT6

While it’s not much of a looker, it is light.
25/40

@Ritz
2008 Norrsken Aquila RS Sportster

Light but feels underpowered for how it looks. Overall the formula is in the right direction
33/40

@Lil_Cretin
1989 RennHart R190 Si M-Package

Extremely light, but severely underpowered
30/40

@GassTiresandOil
1996 Durendal Ballina

on the lighter side, good power but feels a little plain overall.
30/40

@iastr_0
1992 Hossack Kingfisher GS

A little heavy, a little underpowered and a little boring looking. It all adds up.
18/40

Average points given throughout this round: 29.2
Most people were spot on with what the car should be, maybe the CW was too obvious this time? The last few seemed to have more variety of cars.

Fun fact of the round
The average year submitted is 2001(.03). Nobody actually has a car from that year but the closest would be toxicnet with the 2002 Rocket - Jupiter S.

Near mid pack is nothing to sneeze at. Maybe it should have been a hotter Evoluzione model however…

Yes, you have a point, the cool wall was a bit too obvious. Since I know you hesitated a bit with hosting, and decided to give it a try, I didn’t want to be too harsh on you there, but now you brought up the point yourself, and…

I think you started with giving away too much, saying that the client wanted to trade in his Miata for something that was even more of a driving machine. That gave a focus on more or less sports cars only, and only cars that had more grunt than a Miata. The thing with the cool wall is that it works best as an open brief. When the client can be as open to a Lincoln Town Car as to a Daihatsu Hijet or a Porsche 928 (at least until cool wall scores are showing, but at least a client that has not really decided what type of car they want). This time, the type of car was too obvious and it was too easy to fine tune the cool wall, so to speak. I did kind of the same mistake when I hosted, by giving away a little bit too much.

With that said, it should be seen more as a lesson for the future than a complaint in this cool wall, it gave us an interesting pack of cars at least, and kudos to you for taking up hosting. Also, love the photos.

The photos are definitely fire, looks like someone was there taking photos right as they came off of turn 2.

Exactly as expected. It deserved every bit of its 34-point coolness score.

In the previous CW (which I hosted) the client wasn’t as picky, and was willing to take anything that fit his needs. Still, props to me for being one of two(?) entrants brave enough to send in a proper supercar in a field mostly populated by smaller, lighter, entry-level to mid-range (and in some cases track-focused) sports cars.
