From what I read, we will not be able to test drive the car we design, at least not at first anyway. So, as an alternative to being able to test drive the car, how about a technical critique?
Since the dynamics of car design is understood quite well today, it would seem to be something that could be done.
What I envision is something like this:
After the car is totally done, the design is submitted to a “test driver”.
This “test driver” then “drives” the car on the companies’ “test track”.
The “test driver” reports back on the car’s handling and performance.
Of course you don’t have to show the test drive or the track, all I’m looking for is the report.
The report would cover handling in G’s, braking power and stopping distance from different speeds, acceleration power in quater mile times and terminal speed , top speed, and noise levels ib dbls.
Virtually all of these numbers can be derived mathmatically from the componebts that are used in the design.
Also, for us Americians, can we have the choice to see these specs in MPH and Feet instead of klm and meters?
