Thank you for that! Should work, even with my ancient GPU, and might inspire me to get my old racing wheel out of storage. And probably jerry-rig a power adapter to it, because I’ve long since lost the original one.

Ha, thanks for this!

Thanks for sharing, would have completely missed it otherwise, and I love free stuff

YESSSS thanks a lot

Lol I regret buying Dirt 3 on Steam. Turns out gymkhana isn’t very exciting as a computer game. Getting it free however, totally worth it :joy:

Lol still saving for forza and a xbox however i see syeam has some goid deals atm

so… when can we make a dirt 3 championship start?

Oh, that’d be a mess. I can barely run around a track in most games, now add live opponents and I’m likely to wreck half the field by driving like crap.

If it’s rally (routes only) you can easily disable collisions (I think off by default)

eh. i also haven’t played dirt 3. but the championship in rally games are competing with track times. not live opponents though

It depends on the mode. Rally is staged and RallyCross is full contact. I think you can do ghosting in all multiplayer modes though; if I remember correctly… it has been a while since I’ve played it.

OH YEAH. rallycross, now we can see everybody’s failing, and then we all curses those who didn’t fail and won

Or cursing me because I drove into half the field in the first corner because I didn’t get the concept of braking distance on dirt.

Eh, dw, Dirt3 is pretty arcade.

If only Dirt2 multiplayer worked anymore, I would introduce you to the maximum carnage of driving Top tier trailblazer cars on Raid truck routes. You drive along truck routes at twice the intended speed lol. So much collision, so much huge air, so much getting wrecked for every single reason.

Fair enough. I think I remember how most games arcade physics seems to work, so as long as I keep in mind the lack of grip on most dirt, I’d probably be fine. If I had a gamepad that actually worked, I’d be tempted to try that method of control, but my only ‘working’ gamepad is currently in pieces waiting for me to finish putting the internals in a new shell. The internal circuit boards survived, but the shell is completely hosed after I accidentally dropped a printer on it.

well i have a joystick… a literal joystick… for plane games

it’d be fun to try and play dirt3 with the said joystick i think

I can vouch for the fact that this is not fun at all :joy: that’s what I get from trying to play X-Wing fighter and then a driving game without bothering to switch controllers.

Didn’t Citroen try to make a car that was joystick controlled? Or was it Saab?

While you’re messing around, how’s it handle using pure keyboard digital input? That’ll tell me more about how the game handles driving physics.

Keyboard (with full asists) is a breeze. And this is coming from a DiRT 3 veteran (Played the game to 100% on xbox 360 and Xbox one)
