I was playing a lot today and I have been building cars starting in 1946 and I noticed something that I thought would make the stats easier to understand at each year. I was thinking that the big stats like sportiness, prestige, etc. could all be scaled in a way that it reads as percentage (unless it already is, I don’t know) and 100% being the maximum stat for that year. I personally do not know what is a good stat for 1946 as opposed to 1980 as opposed to 2015. I understand that this is very low priority, just thought it would make it easier for people to know if their cars are good or not. Or if anyone has a little cheat sheet for what are good stats in certain time periods I would love to know. If this is already the way it operates, I must be making some really bad 1950’s cars.
It’s not a percentage of a max stat, as there is theoretically no max stat for any year. Just know, in the earlier days, stats are going to be lower, and will gradually raise as technology arrives. The devs are trying to not have a “perfect car”, as it subdues creativity. It’s also why there is no real “aesthetic” scoring on the cars.
I’ve seen a few cars exceed 100 in a given stat, and even I have made a car (many build releases ago) which exceeded 100 in a stat.
The only thing that would make sense related to this is to optionally showing the percentage value of the car compared to all competition up to date in the campaign. The stats are relative, which means they have to be compared to other cars to make sense. While I agree that makes things more difficult, it allows for a more satisfying game progression.
Cool, Thanks.
