Drag Racing Challenge ROUND 13: 3 Cylinders Light Weight Sport Budget! Deadline 15/11/2016

Hehehe its gonna be a cracker. Predicting this round to better than the family sports car round.

And be cocky dammit! We are drag racers and as such we can afford to be a little thick skinned compared to those sports car racers.
And if ya can’t take the heat step out of the Tyre smoke and go race hybrids.

edit; that last bit is meant for everybody not just u John lol

edit2:(new rules for next round) Also when setting rules a set time cars must achieve on Qld raceway to be allowed entry MUST be implemented for each new round. And finally all cost in rules will be BUILD cost total not est. sale price

well i’m just so pleased that i have made a car that possibly won’t be stone dead last for once lol

I must disagree with this. I know there is no chance to please everybody but DRC was build with greatest reward for the winner (and that’s the point of competitions in general I guess). Not a consolation prize for winner and full one for the guy with prettiest headlights.
Yes, maybe change that winner can’t proprose 2 rules in the row (that’s what I did) but it doesn’t make sense to take a grand prize away.

Noted. It was late last night and seamed like a good idea however after sleeping on it I have done coded u are right. I figure if the cars must also complete a lap time this will be enough to increase difficulty just enough to increase competition.

and the street track is coming. No turns lol still a drag race but the road will not be perfectly flat and will have far less grip.

IMHO I think that this is not a good idea. I think that it will make the car design process much more complicated, and maybe a bit less fun. We are doing this because this is fun, right?

Was this thing addressed? I’m not sure lol

I don’t see the advantage of doing build cost over total estimated market value either.

While I understand what you are trying to do here, I must point out that I have drag raced my street car before. When I did, I always changed a few settings to make it better in a straight line. I changed things like the tires, the toe angle, the caster angle, shock stiffness, and a few other things. the changes took around 2 hours and were easily put back to stock, but those changes made it a turd on a road course.

I’m already planing the next rules… I actually think that for the first time I really have a chance to win. Sorry to say that, @JohnWaldock, but my car will pass flying by you. :sunglasses:

C’mon guys… did you really had to ruin the long motorsport tradition of sandbagging :grinning: ? I bet half of the field will be running mid 14s or sth like that.

I was just teasing a little to have an idea about others hands
But for what I can see, this will be a really interisting round.

I’ve got a bad feeling about this round, as I think that my “devil car” will be decimated by everyone… And I haven’t made the reveal poster market ad thingy here. What’s wrong with me?

unless you are doing 17’s,i doubt you’ll be dead last

The best I could manage was low 16s, but clearly I will need more power. The challenge for me is to accomplish that without going below the drivability threshold.

Alright, finally our marketing team has made a presentation for our new car. Better late than never.

Behold the fastest car Birch Motors has built yet:

Crinale, our pretty “devil car”.

Yeah, we totally stole that from the Ridge Racer franchise… And the colour is a knockoff of Bogliq’s Moldovan Blue.

But anyways!

It has a 5,666L N/A V12 located behind the seats, which is connected to the rear wheels with a 7-speed gearbox. With this setup this beast is capable of reaching speeds just over 400 km/h.

Its interior tries to keep it light but luxurious. That means bucket seats with a HUD projecting to the windscreen.

With this car you can save your citys traffic lights from '98 Civics racing each other at night, as you’ll show who’s boss.

Birch Motors - The douchebag company.

We’re not really sure where this thing came from, but we know one thing: it’s really f*cking fast.

WHAT? HOW? My car is undrivable with 3/5 of your power… I’m not sure I’ll even complete my entry.

probably cray tuning.

Yup. That a lot of muscle. But mine is ~200kg lighter and does the Airfield in 1:09:dead. Which is nice…
