Drag Racing Challenge ROUND 13: 3 Cylinders Light Weight Sport Budget! Deadline 15/11/2016

Mine has around the same amount of power and I resolved it around the same way. Quality sliders can be your best friend.

Lol its not a smart phone dude its a flip phone from Samsung a E251

Hahahahaha just you wait

With that in mind, I would go to the trouble of heavy editing with whatever I choose to enter - itā€™s bound to work, since I have plenty of patience.

Awesome to see some old faces coming back and new ones as well

Sadly I had to stop participating because of College, but never stoped from whatching it! Hahaha
Thatā€™s the funniest challenge I saw from Automation.
Congrats on building such a good challenge scheme!

Hi,

So I built this.

Problem is, I was a little excited when I started building this so I forgot that the year was 2018. So my base model is 2016. At the end, when I was checking the rules I noticed the slip and I set everything I could to 2018. But the base model isnā€™t editable. Is this OK @JohnWaldock?
It would be a PITA to start over again :disappointed:

i see no real harm in that, as itā€™s older, not newer, than stated

Ok Gday ppl. Some small news I have updated info about the engine exposed rule and added some info about my role and the Racemasterā€™s.

And some questions before the next round.

The beta state? Are we happy with staying in open or would you ppl rather closed?

Are the rules easy to read and understand in post 1 ?

Would anyone need the rules translated and if so what languages?

Should I have a 1 km street track built and added that would have bumps and slight elevation changes?

And Finally any suggestions for making the challenge better?

Suggestion: The rules to the next round to be set by the 2nd place, instead of the winner. This way (maybe) it will be more of a challenge for the current winner to win again.

The 1km street track, imperfections and all, might add an interesting new twist to this challenge by forcing entrants to tune their aero and suspension carefully to avoid bottoming out. I can easily read and understand the rules, but as a current stable release user would rather use that version for now.

  1. In my opinion beta is better because you can build a car in stable and send it to beta (or so I believe) but not other way around.
  2. Yes but

this is not really necessary.
3. 1km and 1 mile would be awesome yes.

Do not worry, I believe this rules are not my kind of jam and even if I by any chance win again (and I really highly doubt it) Iā€™ll pass to someone else. BTW I only won one race with my rules  first one was Darkshine5ā€™s, second koolkeisā€™s, third mine, forth JohnWaldockā€™s. So no worries man

@AirJordan is right on his second point. No need to make a rule that isnā€™t a rule.

Iā€™m using the stable build so itā€™s a +1 for stable from me!

The rules are clear but Iā€™d amend the intercooler piping rule to allow for piping and intercooler to protrude from the front of the car (this is unavoidable on some otherwise great bodies) so that only the bonnet/boot protrusion remains illegal!

Street racing would make for a fun shake-up of the series or as a useful tool to filter entrants (much like the under 1:13 @ airfield has done for this round) but the rules would need to be well tested otherwise compliance will be too difficult and the series will die.

Other than RaduSTā€™s idea

Nope!

Iā€™m not sure I like the idea of second place making the rules. I will suggest that the winnerā€™s ā€œchampionā€™s pickā€ creates the rules while the current champion gets to change a rule. Basically switch around the way it is now.

I agree with this one.

Sorry but I have to disagree with this one. If the engine doesnā€™t fit then it doesnā€™t fit and you have to redesign it, so that it does fit.

If there is a ā€œholeā€ in the bonnet, using a grille, then I donā€™t see why you canā€™t have exposed engine in the bonnet because itā€™s part of the design. The same goes with the boot.

^^^^^Hmm I like this idea it would mean I could get rid of the hat trick rule.

I will remove recommended but not required fixtures and will make it clear that intercooler piping cutting thru the bonnet/boot is not allowed. I never meant for there to be a restriction on the intercooler itself or piping exposed via front bumper vents. And with the exposed engine rule it is only there to make the cars look better and street legal so I may change the wording to say that exposed pipes thru the bonnet must be covered and air filters on carbs can be exposed.

edit.sniped

I know if I get to chose the rules again I will make it mandatory for the air filter to be exposedā€¦But my next rules would be 632ci OHV V8 shootout

well, to those who are afraid of @AirJordan winning again, i wouldnā€™t bother worrying. i will be winning this round (brag). hint: iā€™m running sub 16ā€™s.

oh, with that, please know iā€™m not being cocky, iā€™m just playing it up for fun. itā€™ll be good to see who makes the best Hypercar.
