Drag Racing Challenge ROUND 13: 3 Cylinders Light Weight Sport Budget! Deadline 15/11/2016

Where do I find the Engineering time for the car, I found the production units in the overview but I dont think thats what were after.

Simply click on the Detailed Stats tab. You can find out a breakdown of your car’s stats there, including engineering time. It must be < 150 for the engine, and < 275 for the whole car. I managed both with my test car

@HighOctaneLove I need the champions pick rule please

My captains pick is to make the competition FWD only. Why? Because RWD econoboxes just don’t exist anywhere in 2014-16, so there!!! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Anyway, here’s my entrant… The 2016 Bogliq Kitten GRi

noooooooooo…there goes my RR econdragbox…

First Order Automotive sulked in a corner.

Then we turned the engine through 90 degrees…mashed the rear wheel arches in and pulled out the front wheel arches.

And voila!

The Oook!

I didn’t know.

I just wasn’t prepared.

I had heard about them of course. Mates at work had been telling me about the car journalists who were bedridden for a month after reviewing one of the new Crawlington Slowboat shitboxes, because of the torturous seating arrangements. And how those journalists were actually the lucky ones, because others, who had gotten as far as starting the engine had almost immediately spun off into the nearest wall where worse injuries ensued.

I’d heard about the looks, too. They tried to warn me, but I didn’t believe them. Fool. Arrogant fool I was. Paul came into the office tuesday last week, white in the face. He’d lost his briefcase and cellphone. Just sat there, catatonic for half an hour. Said he’d seen something indescribable go past on his drive here. He takes the bus now every morning, with his eyes closed. I thought he was just weird. I didn’t understand. But now I do.

As I was stepping out of the Chow-Mart yesterday, it was there. My eyes picked it out in the middle of the parking lot like they would have picked out a burning sheep in a flock of regular ones. Like they would have picked out a void in the space time continuum. It was red. It was… I don’t have the words.

Terror got a hold of me and I ran to my car like a toddler running through a dark hallway to get to the comfort of a lit up room. I fumbled and dropped the keys twice, poured my foodstuffs onto the back seat and got in. I couldn’t see it from there. Some primal part of me wondered whether it had seen me. Ridiculous when I say it now. It’s just a car. It is.

As I was pulling out to the main road, thinking it was over, I saw it pulling out behind me. I saw it in my rear view window and yelped. My hands were white knuckled around the steering wheel. Somebody had designed this. But why? And worse, somebody else had paid money for it. I couldn’t bring myself to look at the driver. I didn’t want to know. Part of me thought it would be some kind of monster and the other was equally afraid that it was an otherwise normal looking human.

I gathered the scraps of my bravery, every ounce of manliness I had left, pressed down the clutch and pushed the car into first. I had more than enough power. I could beat this, I thought. Or run from it maybe, it is all hazy now. I can only see the headlights when I close my eyes. The light went green.

And it demolished me. Swerving, screeching and sliding every which way, it left me in the dust. A broken man. Within seconds it disappeared behind the next bend up ahead and was long gone when I got there.

When I got home, my wife thought I’d gotten bad news from my doctor or something. I told her we should start taking the bus. With our eyes closed.

on an unrelated note, to whom do i send the files to? i’m not entirely sure who is running this round

The race master is still @Darkshine5.

thanks

I already sent in my entry, but can someone please confirm I got the rules right.

@koolkei made the basic rules.
@AirJordan added a rule for standard safety with 0 quality slider
@HighOctaneLove added the FWD only rule.

So all of these are in effect… right?

No, only the last rule made by @HighOctaneLove is in effect along with @koolkei’s rules.

Gday guys I have some news.
With my working schedule getting larger by the day ATM after this next round I will be relenting the racemaster position.
I would like to see this challenge continue and in the future I will be available to host again, therefor I am looking for applicants for the position.
The position requires looking after the forum page and taking on entrants PM’s as well as racing the cars and posting small blogs about the cars for the Champions pick.
It is a highly rewarding job and very fun.
Please PM if you are interested if there is more than one party that put’s their hand up we will vote as a community.

i must’ve missed it but.
FWD ONLY?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

that kinda ruled out some of my initial intention with the rules
wouldn’t you be interested to seeing AWD 30MPG Dragster that cost $12000??? :stuck_out_tongue:

anyone got their car anywhere near 13.5s? cause i sure am FAAAAARRRRRRRR from that. i mean slower, like i’m still getting 14s

I’m way past that :stuck_out_tongue: I’m probably not going to enter though, cause my car is basically the same as Howler’s, and he did it a lot better

well then. i just proved that i’m shit under my own rules.
the irony.

People asked for it, and we deliver. Allow us to present: The all-new Birch Apex!

It has a snarling 2.8 litre V6 under the hood, and its power is delivered through a 7-speed manual gearbox to the front wheels. Wheelspin is expected.

Interior is nothing special, but youngsters (the people we try to market this beast to) don’t care, right?

And we stole something. Again! This time we “borrowed” the taillight design from the Mazda RX-8. The back end in general looks also a bit Mazda-y, don’t you think?

Our design team was pressured to keep the price low, and they did! At the cost of… All safety features and driving aids. Except ABS. Because it’s okay to have ABS when it’s icy and you go to a corner WAY too fast.

Birch Motors - Perfomance at the cost of everyone’s safety.

I just noticed the typo in the heading, apparently the deadline was 1810 years ago. I think I was a little late.
