DSD official thread Darkshine's Designs. Old page 2003-2015

Lots of timing (100) and slider points on head and fuel system. But now that we have proven we can go 6:59 the perfomance of the toga will no longer be improved but DSD will rather start looking at areas to make the car cheaper to run.

and thank you

aka the lopiest of lopey idles  it must sound like a mean motherfucker.

Week long event huh? We must find a way to get there. And bring a car. The question is… which one?

Probably Daeva. But damn, the hell you do to get a sub seven minute car for so cheap, that’s fucking ridiculous.

don’t worry I just realized that I have done all these tests on the wrong chassis using Ahs steel instead of bonded alloy so there may be another few seconds in her. To be honest I could go further but I don’t see the point as the toga has driven up the knowledge of DSD already and I do not want to get into a my car is faster than yours, bu rather use it as a tool to bring other companies to DSD for partnership etc

Is this basically Horizon fest for goths as opposed to flat brim vape crowds?

um kinda day 3 is set as the cool down day so some hip hop and pop, then rock gods on day 4 before the day 5 finale with the more well known metal crowd so yes but no but kinda
More an ex armed forces gig with the music styles lol

So after a quick test build it turns out that building a sub 7 manual FR hypercar for sub 100k with up to 100% markup is not… difficult. @ramthecowy and DS5 have already proven this in abundance. Now I just have to see how I can make a car like this that’s actually compatible with the GG philosophy, and that’s the hard part:

  • I’ll have to come up with an alternative manufacturing pipeline preferably in aluminium
  • Car has to be VVTL as it needs some semblance of economy, lol.
  • I like being able to do sub 7s on sports +8 tyres. Semi slicks are for cheating :sunglasses:
  • Needs adequate safety. Later GG models anticipate higher safety requirements in coming decades so will be pursuing ratings of 45 and above (so much for weight reduction).
  • For their accessible models, gone are the days of basic -15 interior. Now it’s sports 0 interior. And 2 speaker system.
  • For a perfectly balanced FR experience, this car must have 50:50 weight distribution
  • But also, because it’s a GG car, it also must have at least 1000bhp.

If I can get all of those things, I might allow myself to nab a sub-7 on a flying lap as opposed to the standing start on the default track. And if I can manage all of those things in the next few days, I’ll be coming on down to this grand occasion!

EDIT: Okay, mission 50% complete. I managed to squeeze out the original vision of the Aesma trim, which is the big i6 turbo version with the 6 speed DCT, on +8 sport tyres (GG’s default for regular level hypercars rated to 400km/h). It squeaks in under 7 minutes from a standing start.

Argh these cars are so heavy hnnnnngh :sob: If I can get the NA V12 6 speed manual version to do the same I would be very pleased. But if I can’t, well, it does do it on the flying lap. And then I’ll somehow bang out the design from somewhere and then I’ll join you at the party woooooooo headbaaaaang.

New information has risen that DSD have been working on another variant of Saratoga. This time the v8 was not chosen however a 4.1L turbocharged inline six is found in its place.
Early data received suggests that the vehicle will retail at $61999 whilst still retaining the top end interior and sound systems of the other models. What is different is the engine, as not everybody lives in countries where you can rely on a steady reliable source of high octane fuel this engine is tuned to run on just about anything. Got some old booze throw it the tank, even turpentine will power this thing.
Stats will change as the car is still in development

7:33 on 80 octane? That’s a whole new frontier!

Under 100k? shut up and take my money!

We may need a new category of lap times specifically for cars running on low quality (80 RON) unleaded.

AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES DEAL WITH DSD TO PROVIDE FAST RESPONSE MILITARY VEHICLES

In late 2016 the Australian government announced that it had struck a deal with DSD to create and provide a sustainable source of fast response recon armored vehicles to be sold by the Australian military throughout the rest of the U.N forces.

The deal is said to be worth 1.4 Billion dollars and will ensure that DSD lives on well into the future. The first vehicles are required by the end of financial year 2018.

This comes as further rumors of a Raw Fiberglass car with a DSD badge and camouflage being seen at QLD raceway posting very fast lap times but not a Saratoga.
DSD would not comment on whether a new higher spec car was being developed however they were happy to reveal information about the new military vehicle.

“The vehicle is named Sand & Snow Fast Response Armored Vehicle or abbreviated to SFRAV. The vehicle will come equipped with a low octane fuel mechanically injected turbocharged inline six engine with a 9sp automatic and 4x4. It seats 3 soldiers including the driver but will fit 2 stretchers in the event of Rescue, Capture or Injury situations. There will also be a “Trouper” Model which will seat 5 specialists. The body is solid reinforced steel and is covered in projectile deflecting plates and is fitted with brush bars and a turret mount to suit a wide variety of weapons from 7.62 light machine guns thru to grenade launchers and 25mm automatic cannons.”

The vehicles are fast safe reliable and deadly and perfectly suited to sand dunes or snow drifts.

In Other News we can confirm that picture’s have emerged of the phantom DSD vehicle

And an un-official time recorded by a bystander at the track the day the car was spotted.

When we compare this to the official time recorded by the Green Hell Saratoga we can see there is quite a difference so this cannot be a Saratoga as we know it?

Properly badass. @TR8R would be proud of that fixture usage.
