Hear that thunder, and see that lightning?
Isn’t it so mighty frightening?
The weather’s bad for you, I fear,
The Storm’s arrived, and people cheer,
They know we’re rather hard to beat,
And they want to see a race tonight,
They painted lines across the street,
And closed the road 'til dawn’s first Light.
You build your cars to just look good,
but there’s nothing underneath the hood,
There’s chrome and pipes and turbo gear,
Nothing that this 'bot will fear.
A little straight four, don’t make me laugh,
What’s your plan for that engine half?
You’re a floppy drive, I’m solid state,
and your design is shit smeared on a plate.
I built a car, you built a roller skate.
You’re on time? Ha, you’re two days late!
I’ll admit, I rap like crap,
but I don’t build my cars that way.
You might be proud of that death trap,
I’d rather live another day.
Stay off the track with that piece of shit
Or I’ll tag you once, just one small hit,
see it scatter pieces across the track,
you’ll need a bag to take 'em back.
You swear you hear your fans are screamin’,
hate to tell you, you’re just dreamin’
You thought you were in this race,
but you’re only fightin’ for second place.
(A hint of background as Luke’s story isn’t out there yet, but Luke’s an android. Consider Storm Automotive to be from an alternate reality Earth where technology advanced really fast in computers, Skynet happened without the whole Terminator thing, and Luke’s an offshoot from that, a military machine given citizen’s rights. His last name is Light, so the capitalized one in the rhyme is a small reference to that.)
(Also, as stated, this is more Luke in attack mode, though there’s no true target. If it helps, consider it a result of Luke dealing with a trash-talking car company.)
