Few general ideas for features

Hi! I wonder what makes every engine sound unique. For e.g. my in-line 4 from Mazda (2.3 16V DOHC 2006) sounds very different from my in-line 4 from Opel (2.0 8V OHC 1995).

But, to the things.

  1. I’d love to hear more unique sounds, more then one for specific engine with some pitch adjusted.
  2. I’d love to design my own Wankel engine.
  3. I would be great to create so many cylinders what I imagine (with some limitations) but I mean a slider to choose number of cylinders.
  4. Maybe you would make some events to design such monsters as This 54 liter radial 18 ( youtube.com/watch?v=BpWKoXbWVjE ) (Because they are awesome).

1)The sound system is already pretty complex, using/blending different sets of sounds depending on different intake and exhaust setups, cam profiles etc. I’m not sure we can do much better, though we are looking to change/improve a few things in future. It’s never going to cover the full spectrum of what every engine can sound like in real life, as it’s complicated enough to create ANY good engine sounds, let alone ones that take account of slightly different manifold designs and all the little things that change real engine sounds.

2)Maybe one day after release.
3)Seriously horrifically difficult and would take literally YEARS worth of art work
4)as above, and also in no way useful for the actual game (running a car company)

Yes I can imagine some things are just too difficult to do, a especially in limited time. Thank you for clarifying my point of view with engine sounds they are pretty good anyway. :slight_smile:
