Due the new Automation missing textures management, the tool that I proposed in my latest suggestion topic is cancelled.
And here, the intro to my suggestion.
When I’m making a new car with new non-released fixtures (for example, testing my new fixtures before releasing the package), the car looks great with the news fixtures, and, when you release finally the package into the Workshop, you have 2 packages (the definitive version without the ID, and the Steam Workshop version with ID), and in the game appears this two.
You erase the non-Workshop version to avoid a repeated fixture, but here apperars the problem: your beautiful model doesn’t had the fixture that you erased (obviously), and Automation give a message that tells the missing packages.
Here my suggestion:
The Automation devs can make a new functionality in this menu, consisting an option that allows the replacement of missing fixture with other fixture selected by the user, selecting the main folder (e.g. I erased NSX_2015_VMO, and I downloaded the same mod, but the uploaded into Workshop, called 6524455_NSX_2015_VMO, and automation tells whe I opened the car with the erased mod that NSX_2015_VMO is missing, and my suggestion is to put in the side of the missing fixture a button called “replace them”, and the user can replace this with the 6524455_NSX__VMO).
I’m explained well?
Thanks.
p.s. any rim tutorial?
p.s.2. The rim painting will be released in a future version?
