Free Valve technology

Hey guys, i found an interesting new technology that Koenigsegg is currently refining and they will use it in their future cars. They have been testing it for 2 and a half years in an old Saab and there hasn’t been any failure in all that time. Here’s the video in which they explain what it is and how it works:

As far as i figured out, the engine would become smaller, lighter, more powerful and more efficient, but it seems to be complicated so the downside would be higher costs and more man hours.
Is there any possibility to add this to the game?

in short; no. Apart from the fact the engine builder is, for all intensive purposes complete, this is also technology the designers probably don’t understand well enough to design into the game let alone the amount of time that would (imo) be totally wasted on incorporating this.

very interesting stuff tho, good find!

Indeed it is very interesting, but think of when this technology is used by all of the manufactures. Maybe 2020 or later? Is it worth the effort of adding a valve train which works in a totally different way than the types which are in when you only can use it in a very short period of game time? I don’t think so.

@DerBayer i think it’s not about when ALL the manufacturers will use it, i think it’s about when it has proven itself to be a viable option. Or how many manufacturers do you know that use 5 valves per cylinder for all their cars? Besides Ferrari i mean… I think as soon as Koenigsegg proves that it’s refined and working by putting it into their next road car, it might be considered as a viable option.

We’d love to add it, eventually, but it’s a lower priority than things like Diesels, Rotaries etc. So it’d be a case of as DLC if ever.

Ok, i understand.
