Wow, much edgy, so shirtless.
AFAIK the majority of people who make Sonic avatars are either children or still in some stage of self-discovery or confused teenaged angst etc. I speculate incidence probably drops off pretty sharply in adulthood unless one has unresolved issues. I was never a Sonic fan, but I can tell you now you’re definitely not allowed to see the shit I did when I was a teen haha, let’s just say I’ve been somewhere like it and it happened 
So what I can tell you is that people who discover that they can put any kind of pen to paper (or even pay somebody to put pen to paper) also discovers just how empowering it is to be able to determine your self-expression. It’s like a beacon of control in a flotsam of hormones and nothing makes sense and fuck, to be able to say “this represents me”. Of course, being confused teens etc. the exercise itself is generally just as garbled as anything else, hence the internet going LOL.
Since most of us go through this in some way or another, this mitigates my willingness to ridicule such forms of self-expression. Well, it mitigates it to the point of me being willing to ridicule myself, and hey, I’m way too happy to do that, because irreverence is a good thing sometimes 
Speaking of which, are there any actual Sonic fans here? I missed out on almost all of it. From what I know, the Sonic fan communities generate drama because they tend to be the target of a lot of ridicule because of the above population and feelings and the internet and stuff. I would know, I mean, shit guys, I don’t think it’s any secret I hail from the furry corner of the internet
