Homologation 1984 Group Automation [Final 5 Review]

Nah, the entertainment is separate from cabin noise. Cabin noise depends on engine loudness and interior type. I notice that between the previous build and this one, the “insulation” slider has disappeared, presumably since the type of interior implies what kind of insulation the cabin might have already! As for me, a standard cabin and an engine loudness of 62 gives me a 13.3% penalty due to cabin noise. Ouch!

I would be surprised if your car was faster than mine up Pikes Peak unless it were at least 30% more expensive  Unless there was a serious buff to offroad, mine’s not that high either… but I’m confident in my strong drivability and sportiness stats.

So far.

Average displacement: 2521.13cc
Avarage # of Cylinders: 6.5

How many engines are more than 3 cc below their respective caps?

There are two engines more then 3cc below their respective cap.

1 SPOT LEFT.

The Centauri Saber slides in at the last second!

Pending delivery

Hm! Not bad styling! A bit funky, but clean, simple, and effective.

Good luck everyone, now time to see how badly we (I) all actually did. :stuck_out_tongue:

My car is like 15K total cost lol, but i did a turbo and im pretty sure i pissed it off in such a way that my HP is nowhere near as close as i could have done with a NA one. But ah well, luxury interiors have a price!

I actually ditched the turbo after coming up against the max 0.4 compressor diameter: block bore ratio. I just couldn’t get really meaningful outputs with that, so with a highly oversquare turbo i4 I was barely pushing 220hp. That’s when I said nuts to that, and did what the majority of people appear to have done, an NA v8, except cranked it up a few notches.

Expect 25th-6th with short quips on each car, announcement of Awards. Reviews to follow within a few days.

Yeah but i wanted the turbo because then i could get roughly equivalent power, or at least close, for less weight so i could put more into the luxury of the car.

6th-25th results. Pint sized reviews to follow later, and last but least, the main event. The full reviews for the top 5.

This was an exciting turn out, with 25 manufactures churning out vehicles to qualify for Homologation of Group Automation.

And rear drum brakes! PAW takes pride in their obsolescent technology. :ugeek:

Yay! It seems my car is in the top 5, as it isn’t in this list. That makes me (and Astana) happy!

There is nothing wrong with rear drum brakes. As long as they are sufficient.

Oh, easily. They’re 275s - no brake fade at all. (250 mm vented discs in the front.)

8th, not bad. Not bad at all for my first competition results.

And “Not like any car from the UK?” Is that because I used carbs? I’m taking that as a good thing, no matter what it actually means.

EDIT: Well, A SOHC Turbo I4, with a four barreled carb was not the way most people went. +1 for creativity! And damn, was I down on power, next lowest power was in 21st position.

…just out of curiosity, did anyone else go with front-wheel-drive? Mine is the only FWD outside the top five, at the very least.

Not like any car from the UK, because English cars from the 50s-90s are known for their horrible shoddy wireing and electronics thanks to Lucas. Since your car was reliable, I was making a joke about not using Lucas electronics.

Lucas wiring diagram. (Joke, but oh so true if you’ve ever rebuilt a British car)

You were the only one.

Also, not having a proper LSD is not a good thing.
