Well, oil embargo isn’t too far away in 1970.
So, some eye candy for those who like American muscle cars. Technically it is a pony car, but with the big block it becomes a muscle car. The only reason it is DW on the front is because only 225s would fit with McPhersons!
It certainly looks good…but please tell me you are going to tune some more
I doubt if it makes sense to get even more power. That car is not very large, neither is it heavy. That means, if you got too much hp per kg/pound, all that additional power ends up as smoke due to wheelspin. The 1970 locker options are just a limited help and the tires on that car are already enormous.
So naive just kidding. To be competitive you need more hp per kg(lbs), I guarantee it.
Nope. I’m all done with it.it isn’t going to be competitive against your DAOHC/SOHC 3v engines with 440 cubic inches, and I don’t expect it to be. I actually tuned it down 25hp because of the wheelspin and drivability hit it suffered because of it. It seems you are the naive one which has forgotten who I am.
I actually used a larger body (the standard one, not the Barth version) to ensure that my car could make more use of its 400-plus bhp, even without a proper LSD. Too much power and/or too little weight can be detrimental to acceleration (and hence lap times), so I had to strike a balance between the two.
First of all, you called your dad a hoon, isn’t that aussie slang for drunken idiot?
Just remember, you get what you pay for.
On a more related note, here’s my entry.
Introducing the 1970 Petoskey Montauk RTX Aero!
Hopefully this winged warrior will not suck or be too controversial.
Under the hood(bonnet) is an experimental 441 TriForce V8.
It is this engine that would later inspire the Legendary Petoskey SOHC small block twenty four years later. (Totally making this story up as I go along.)
Um fuck no!!!
A “hoon” is classified by the media as someone that drive’s their car in a manner that is dangerous to the public. ie burnouts, street racing, loud engines and modified cars.
Over here there is a fine line between hoon and enthusiast it all depends on what the media says at the time.
Aussie car culture was it it’s peak in the late 70’s early 80’s now if you drive a nice car or an import you are by default a hoon.
Now someone that drinks then drives regardless of the type of vehicle they own is a Fucking Moron
Ummm…I didn’t use this. hahaha How did I miss this??? Do we need race exhaust and slicks too?
its up to you you must use a race intake. you can use exhaust/slicks if you wish
My mistake, I read it once in a car magazine. It wasn’t referring to drinking and driving, more along the lines of drunken wild behavior brought on by heavy partying.
Hey
Look at me
I’ve become so strong
I used to be so weak
Now, I’m free
It’s like I detached myself from you
And all the times you tried to break me all over again
I shut down
Oh, take your hollow mind
Get out of my sight
I’ve been way too nice
[Repeat 2x]
I guess in the end
I couldn’t comprehend
All the accusations
Drove us apart
No chance to push restart
Cause now I detached myself from you
And all the times you tried to break me all over again
I shut down
[Repeat chorus 2x]
How did I not see the gift inside your eyes?
You were trying to hide something
With your stupid lies, again and again
And now we’re blinded by my desire
Wanting to feel the butterflies
The magic
Oh, it’s so tragic
We’re done
Cause now I detached myself from you
And all the times you tried to break me all over again
I shut down
[Repeat chorus 3x]
This song, these words, they carry over into what I have made.
Of course, that’s not entirely true…
Anyway. Have pictures.
Function > Form.
Touche.
lol just got off the phone to Dad and found out that he came back from nam in September 1970. So these cars would be what he was looking for to race and have fun. I am actually going to post pictures of the car’s to my dad to pick the first Champions pick. Just something to keep in mind
That’s pretty cool, Props.
I think maybe you are thinking of hooligans?
OK, I can resubmit later today with race intake then?
I think you meant Bloody Idiot
Well ok all the ads would probably have LOVED to say If you Drink and Drive You’re a Fucking Moron, but you know, they’re not allowed to do that…
Somewhere around where I live, somebody owns a V8. On the odd occasion, its lovely exhaust note can be heard while whoever’s driving probably lays out a fresh pair of rubbers on the road out the back. Which is nice. I just wish they wouldn’t do it past 11.
EDIT: hope I can get an entry in on time.
