I do not think that this is insulting on purpose. Maybe not the best words in that bad situation though.
Btw: I have three days off next week, I would do it if I only knew what actually has to be done.
Is there any how-to instruction for being a racemaster?
I daresay that this would be one scenario in which it is perfectly excusable to skip the usual forum etiquette as you’ve described. In case you hadn’t realised already, this would constitute the greatest of extenuating circumstances*.
* up there with death, disability or grievous injury/illness, or personal upheaval such as loss of job, home, significant property… actually you know what, internet obligations only hold sway when your real life is running normally.

As I already offered: You can write a short instruction to me, and I ll do it on tuesday and wednesday (sorry for being one day early, but these are my free days…).
As far as I understood the system, all I have to do is doing with each car some laps on three tracks, adding the total times and dividing it per 3 to get the final score - the lower, the better. I guess that I can handle that, I ll do a few screenies as proof and check so that errors (that hopefully not occur) can be found.
If I accidentally mess that up, I’ll pass the racemaster duty back to Darkshine.
What do you think about that?
Just in case: I don’t think you’re going to get a reply for at least a week. So don’t be in too much of a hurry. I think most of the rest of us have already presumed that this challenge is of little concern and is on hold until the forseeable future.

@Darkshine5, I can’t imagine what you are going through and I could never hope to understand the pain of losing a brother. Losing one’s life in the line of duty is as an honorable death as any, but still no less painful for the ones they leave behind. Take your time and deal with your loss, we will still be here when you get back.

I like the look of @one85db’s entry - the blue paint seems not only metallic, but appears to have a slight violet tint from some angles when the light hits it. The rest is basically Camaro-like, which is a good thing.

I think I have a reasonable and convenient way to keep this going without a race master. Everybody uploads a password protected archive of the export right here before the deadline expires. After that you have 3 days to post your password for the archive and your laptimes in a Google Spreadsheet that I will create. I will do no verification but if somebody has a suspicion it will be easy to check by downloading the export of the competitor. I will do this Monday most likely. Until then I am mobile only on a bike roadtrip. Please reply with your thoughts.

I’d prefer to wait for Darkshine to come back, it would be a shame for him to have to miss the first race of his new challenge.

#NEWSFLASH
For those of you who have somehow failed to grasp the gravity of these circumstances (and I imagine you may be able to deduce who I am talking about right now, so I will not name names) it’s implicitly decided that this challenge will be on indefinite hold. And, unless the challenge creator himself explicitly states otherwise, that decision is not up for debate.
I’m frankly [alpha]extremely[/alpha] disgusted in the suggestions to circumvent Darkshine given that this is a new challenge that he spent time and effort to create and publish for our enjoyment. Now, in this time of mourning, a certain group of you are primarily concerned with hijacking his challenge and running it in his absence. That would be improper under most circumstances, let alone the situation that has unfolded in front of us currently.
Seriously, what is so important about this challenge staying on its original deadline without the original host and reviewer? Does it go stale? Was there an expiration date printed somewhere that I am not privy to?
I, for one, will not release my entry in this challenge until Darkshine tells me that he has it up and running again when he is ready. Furthermore, I encourage all other competitors to do the same. I also am calling out each and every one of you who so ignorantly called for Darkshine to hand his challenge over in the interest of timeliness over the interest of handling his personal loss. I swear, such suggestions are distasteful, inconsiderate, and flat out rude…

Wow, I’m so sorry darkshine, just coming back into the game and I saw this. Take care of yourself and spend time with your family, nothing else is more important right now.
I had stared building a car for this as the contest seemed pretty awesome then I read to the bottom of the thread… here’s my screenshots, likely won’t finish building, nor was it much of a track performer anyway
