I Need Speed!: The Trip (CLOSED, POSSIBLY CANCELED)

Let me just say your modern and 90s car designs are great!

Here’s what every traffic car place is supposed to be taking the role of from the original NFS:
It doesn’t need to be like the original car, it just needs to take the role of it

Compact premium car: Audi A4 (B7, 2004)
Mid-size premium car: Cadillac CTS (2003)
Cheap coupe: Chevrolet Cobalt (2006)
Cheap hatchback: Dodge Caliber (2009), Nissan Versa/Tiida Hatchback (2010)
Muscle car (coupe): NFS Fictional “Challenger Mustang Camaro thing” Muscle car (2008)
Muscle car (sedan): Dodge charger (LX, 2010)
Minivan: Dodge Grand Caravan (2010)
Wagon: Dodge Magnum (LX, 2008)
Camper van: NFS Fictional “Sprinter” (2004)
Full-size American sedan: Ford crown Victoria (2007)

What about a cost cap? I’d suggest $100k-$120k AMU at most.

Also, for each era (1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s+, etc.) each car should be judged relative to other cars from the same decade - not just in terms of performance, but also reliability and design, especially since newer cars generally have a reliability advantage over older ones.

I don’t think a cost cap is necessary since some cars from the original game (think veyron) cost way more than that

And I think the tier system will keep stuff in check, one car from each tier will win

The reason offroad is a 1-star priority here is because although there are off-road sections, they are mostly in the form of shortcuts scattered throughout the route.

Anyway, here’s my first submission: the '95 LVC LS60 4.0 Spyder.

This is a Tier 5 car powered by a 4.0L V12 making 500 bhp, with a 10,000 rpm redline.

My second submission is the '05 AMS Archangel 7.2 700 - a 700bhp Tier 6 car. It’s built on the same body set as my Tier 5 submission, but has a more modest 7200rpm redline from its 7.2L V12. Here it is with the QFC39 version for comparison:

Interior comparison

If anything, it’s even more unhinged (and technologically advanced) than its Tier 5 counterpart.

So we can and should use +15 quality where it matters (or just everywhere)?

I don’t think so. We don’t have to go that far anyway.

Besides, I’m assuming that cars made before 1975 may use leaded fuels, while those made from 1975 are required to use unleaded fuels (91 RON exclusively from 1975 to 1984, 91 or 95 RON from 1985 to 1994, and 91, 95, or 98 RON from 1995 onwards).

excessive quailty will get you binned unless it’s a super-ultra-mega expensive tier 6 hypercar

100 Ron is also allowed for tier 6 only, beyond 2000

wonder if ill have a chance to fix this thing up for this

Ibishu Pessima 2.0 ZX AWD (tier 2)

this might get instabinned

2011 Grand: N228 (Tier 1)

The Sports version of the stock N227 with 350 Horsepower and a 5.4 L v8

350hp in tier 1? that thing must be heavy as hell

its about 3330 LBS or 1510 KG

Tier 6 2005 Zephorus Falcon

The fiddling I had to do for this to pass emissions. It’s like owning a real car. Awful.

Also there definitely should have been more rules for this challenge. $3million can get you a lot.

2100 bhp??? That’s literally three times that of my Tier 6 entry. A saner host would have realized that ~2000 bhp would be far too much power for the rule set, but I love the audacity behind the no-limits version of your '05 Zephorus Falcon - it’s virtually unmatched in terms of sheer power and speed. Regardless, if you had been an entrant (and not the host) of QFC39, the Falcon (or rather, a very heavily detuned version of it) would have been a top contender there!

So like is there a cost cap or not? I see in the comments that exessive quality will get binned, but there is nothing about that in the rules, and the comments says an exeption to that rule is tier 6 cars. Quality spam game or no game?

Uhhh I can technically make a 2000hp 700kg deathtrap that’s just electronically limited to 146 mph for tier 1?

I’m assuming a maximum of +5 quality anywhere (unless something proves me otherwise). For reference, neither of my entries exceeded +4 quality on any slider.
