ICA Intervention Challenge *Dead. Laptop died*

…mine is a compact wagon with a 9.1 liter carburated pushrod engine that gets 20 mpg, costs $14100 and is overweight even without the engine but has 230 horsepower at 3000 rpm… think I may need to change things

Why the slap-happy fuck did you think you need a 9.1L engine? rofl

By the way, I think we should also have a drivability requirement, otherwise I’m going to put bicycle wheels on it.

Well I thought with the 3000rpm limit I would need a pretty big engine so I just used the biggest engine I could just as a place holder because I was worried if I would be able to get the body I chose to be light enough and cheap enough, and it turns out even with a glued aluminum chassis and fiberglass panels it isn’t light enough and its too expensive.

soooooo am i in? my car’s above, i din’t make a new post. i just edited my post.

sigh I guess.

I’m assuming it is $12K with 0% markup?

yea

also. the ‘wing’ roof-rack really does act like a ‘wing’ and gives downforce and hurts economy just a bit.

should we just accept it as a wing and pretend it because of the aerodynamic penalty? or how do we want to go about it?

Alright well my first prototype with bicycle wheels costs $12200 and has 0 drivability and sportiness but it gets 70 mpg

And also realistically the roof rack would hurt economy a lot more than a wing I think

I mean … Yea. A roof rack provides more crap for the air to hit on the way over your car. It’s not a streamlined aerodynamic feature.

acceptable i guess.
and logical.

btw, $9000 is really easy to reach guys. just have to find the right body. since we’re thinking a small patrol car.

Hahaha. I made the engine a little smaller, and bam, I’m at 90mpg. Lol!

how and or why… 90mpg with no quality points?

Because he’s Phale, and his name is not what he does.

Naturally aspirated, 91RON, no undertray or cooling flaps (cooling flaps actually reduced mpg lol). Drivability and sportiness actually aren’t 0 anymore too!

Oh and also I tried a new body and now it costs $7400 :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s nifty and all but … I think I said it should be 86 or less. So yea. Try again.

91RON = 86AKI :wink:

You and your math. Away with you.

so finally someone reached the $7k mark… i got 1 done, but im still searching if there’s any better body.
