ICA Intervention Challenge *Dead. Laptop died*

Finally you get your horses ass in here.

Good read as always.

I may quite possibly have submitted the slowest car to this round.

Also, I get most of the requirements in this next round. But why the hell can we only rev to 3000rpm?

  • I mean itā€™s actually quite a good balance mechanism, forcing the rev limiter. But in terms of in-universe rationaleā€¦ is it a sound thing?

Wait thereā€™s a limit on how high our engines can rev? ā€¦in that case I may need to do a slight redesign.
Edit: nevermind, didnā€™t notice it was episode 2.
2nd edit: after reading the rules does ā€œno quality points will be authorizedā€ mean we can still lower quality sliders?
3rd edit: not sure if Iā€™ll be able to get 40 mpg, normally with engines that I think would be efficient and definitely powerful enough for the job I dont even get 15 mpg

waitwaitwaitā€¦ i kinda missed episode 1. can i still participate?

since i didnā€™t remember seeing a date here, iā€™ve been putting it off
if we are still allowed, we have 2 options offered as standard, customization available.

so. we got a 2 mysterious containers arrived at our HQ.
so we got a few of our lackey to open it for us. and there it is. 2 mint, ancient but meh looking hatchback.

and thereā€™s a letter inside both car. a request to make these cars to be a decent performer in the modern world, if not speedy. they say to send an email to them once weā€™re done with the cars and they will pick it up with santaā€™s sled in the middle of the night, since itā€™s being rented for cheap because itā€™s not christmas yet. thatā€™s it.

weā€™re baffled. whatā€™s in it for us? is it worth the time? should we do it? but on the other hand, is this a test? will there something more than just this behind it.

either way, weā€™re both anxious and confused but curious nonetheless. but since iā€™m a busy-busy man. i decided to make good use of the KSR, they donā€™t have much at their time right now anyway. so i gave the head a call to get these cars. within 5 minutes, he came up, i explained the situation and got the response of. nothingā€¦ he looks like he blanked for about 30 sec before the sobered back up after i gave a wet willie to his nose.

anyway, his first response was ā€œhave we got any spare good engines laying around?ā€. i then remembered that we have those PP series engines that weā€™re gonna use in the Phyton already done but the cars themselves are not done. so i go back to my office to get him the keys to the warehouse to get the engines. ā€œ2 engines only. NOT! MORE! damn naughty mechanics.ā€ i said to him.

he then proceeds to walk to the warehouse and do about what i just assigned him to. although, heā€™s walking kinda half-assed.

5 days later i got a call saying the car was done. ā€œDONE!!! 5 DAYS?? YOU SERIOUS?! fine iā€™ll take a look at it now.ā€. i proceeds to go to the KSR Garage to see what is, probably the 8th biggest dissapointment in my life. it looksā€¦ what? nothing?.. nothing changed? literally nothing changed? wtf was that bastard doing? that is before i realised that, i think the car is sitting lower now. and yeah, it seems like everything except the exterior has been changed. like EVERYTHING. no more solid dics or drums, itā€™s now sitting on a full double wishbone suspension. the interior have better supporting seats, the dash hasnā€™t changed but everything on the dash is now more modern. turned it on. sounds exactly like the PP engines, i think nothing is changed.

well now i can send them an email and rest easy. well, kinda. i still donā€™t know what will happen later.

This time export in pm?

Dammit, what is with all these challenges restricting turbosā€¦ I can do NA but itā€™s not as fun that way :stuck_out_tongue:

Good god, youā€™re a bitchy bunch. Lemme see if I can get all this.

This is an in-house security vehicle. Designed to patrol private property. Itā€™s not designed to keep up with or catch anything that isnā€™t the average person on foot. Think of it like a golf cart but with more stuff. Iā€™ve never seen a golf cart that can rev to 10k.

Send me a pic of your car, Koolkei, and I might let you in.

Absolutely no quality points. In either direction.

Is 8K the estimated cost?

What ever cost is under the Overview tab.

there was a conveniently timed mod that adds offload fixtures just released, just download that
OP: when you say it needs to run on regular 86 fuel do you mean it needs to have a RON of 86 or lower? Thanks for explaining the purpose of our cars moreā€¦ I would have tried to make some kind of offroad extremely reliable hypercar otherwiseā€¦

Iā€™m pretty sure thatā€™s what I meant, yea.

The total cost in overview tab doesnā€™t include the cost of the engine, meaning that it would be fully possible to use the biggest engine that fits in the body and all of the most expensive parts. I think that 8K estimated price would be very reasonable for a car like this.

This is news to me. Apparently Iā€™ve been playing this game wrong the whole time. Were would one find the estimated cost?

Estimated price in market tab.

Fuck me. Apparently the car I designed as a basis for this round is $12,900. Soooo ā€¦ letā€™s do that?

Nevermind, got it down to 12,100

Seems a little high to me, if weā€™re talking engines under 100hp I feel like we should be under 10K. But I havenā€™t tried it yet.

I imagine the weight and cargo requirements would increase the cost by a bit, to meet the cargo requirement you need a bigger vehicle and that makes it heavier so it means you need to use lighter more expensive materials.

On the topic of my car I think It might be a bit overkill in the engine department to help with gas mileage and now the speed of my car doesnā€™t seem to be limited by the engine or aerodynamicsā€¦ but by the game not letting me have long enough gearsā€¦ my economy patrol car has more performance orientated gearing than most supercarsā€¦

Mine has a 700 CC engine with 25 HP and Iā€™m a top speed of 40. Iā€™ve finally dropped it down to $11,800.

Interesting. Something small, but durable and rugged. I think we can do that.

@Lukerules117 Think of something like a Smart car, but with a bigger boot for all your security crap. The fuel mileage is there so you can complete your shift without having to refuel the car.
