International T/A Series [1968 Season] [Final Standings]

this is my first entry into this competition so i don’t know what to expect

Due to the allowance of a new bodystyle and the better manufacturing procedures the new 1968 ITA TX is both lighter and more powerful than the last iteration. An aditional advantage of the new body is improved aerodynamics for better preformance at high speeds.

Due to the ban on small V8’s in the TU class an entirely new powerplant had to be designed. The all new powerplant is in the form of of an Inline 4. Due to the limitations of the larger cylinder size the power output has dropped by a small amount. This has been compensated by improvements in aerodynamics and supsension. Lap times are on a similar level as in 1967.

clever with the ‘front wing’ I had played with the idea on super cars, but never on anything ‘classic-esk’. That extra downforce will be nice

Here’s my entries:

TU & TX

Good luck everyone!

First historic car! I’m going to enter TU.

Looks like i’m quite down on power, only 299HP for an TX entry…
But the ccar was made in a hurry and i know that my engine design skills could be far better so i don’t have a problem with it…although i’m really worried about my pace…

Correction* 353 horsepower, was just looking over my build and realized i had accidentally lowered the rev limiter by 600 and had cut off some of my top end. No other changes made to the car.

24 hours left for submissions. Legality checks have been run on all cars I have received so far.

48 hours till the first race of 1968!

Did I include the .lua with the fixed rpm limit in my pm to you? I wasn’t sure if I did.

You did.

Also I’ll leave this reminder out here just in case anyone who hasn’t entered a competition before is still planning to enter:

Send ONLY the finished car LUA file. I don’t need the engine LUA because the engine is included in the car file.

I can’t wait to see the results of the first race of '68!

Woo! To all of you who submitted in the last few hours - thanks for joining! I’ll do legality checks again tomorrow morning, so don’t worry.

Legality checks complete. However, 2 people didn’t name their cars right when they saved them in the game, so I don’t know which is whose. I’m waiting for PM’s back from those people identifying their cars, and I will add the legal ones from that batch to the front page.

Edit - received a response that clarified ownership of those cars. Front page has been updated. Weight and power stats for all cars will be posted late tonight (around midnight PST), and results for Laguna Seca will be posted in the morning.

Quite the turn out! I am excited to see the power/weight postings

I’m curious about how the BMMS will perform… it’s the first time that I’m using it for a challenge

Sorry I didn’t get around to posting specs last night. I had a really long shift yesterday, and I was dead tired afterward and just went to bed. So, without further ado…

Although my car is quite heavy and has by far the least hp in the TX class i’m on 8th place. Nice surprise

Good results for Montes. I’m thinking to make some changes.

My TX class car needs serious work. Ouch
