Resubmit as Da Sedan.
Car is almost exactly the same bar the rear end.
Don’t count on that.
Push rods…need I say more? Gives you an idea where my economy lies Desert Motors tries to use push rods whenever they can because we can Also…350HP? I expected more from you Strop!!
Yeah, I would’ve, if not for this particular rule…
That’s why I’m not making this an Armada car… Armada would have gone for M4 levels of performance for the budget… and at least 500hp…
And Gryphon Gear would have gone for a 1:1 hp:kg ratio…
I still bet you tried to see how much you could get And yeah, I know of the limit but what are limits to the glorious Strop when it comes to POWAH?
Well, seeing as rules are rules and I did want to submit something, I just went for the smallest engine I could make that could reasonably reach 350hp with good economy and left it at that!
Elsewhere I’m actually in the process of trying to reduce engineering and build costs… so far I have a AWD coupe with 1439hp at 1433kg for 66000 costs and 500PU… or a 1109hp, 1109kg MR racer for 57000 costs and 450PU. Both hustle around Green Hell in under 7 minutes and thanks to reducing the quality of the tyres I’ve also managed to slash the servicing costs from like 25k to 6k.
(Oh, and both have non-negative quality sport interior and basic infotainment… but this does mean I have to use -15 adv safety)
WOW!!! I didnt realize that tires were THAT much on service costs but it does make sense since they are not cheap to purchase.
Well my not so sporty car with less than 200hp can do Green Hell faster than a Ford Transit diesel Still probably a LOT slower than your 350HP bundle of fun, mine is…not so fun, at least I think so, wont know for sure until the big reveal.
Fun fact, when I read the idea of the challenge I thought I should make a 3.7 inline 6 with 350 hp. And those were exactly the limits
And Mason, I like the point system, it’s a different method to what has been done before, I just pointed out the areas that could generate concern (I guess my engineer mindset is progressing, as I complete my degree).
Not to get too far off topic, but basically what I’m having extreme trouble with at the moment is figuring out how the hell Honda got its new Type R around the Ring so damn fast. Even a decently specced 350hp RWD sedan with a geared LSD weighing only 1350kg is nowhere near as quick (though it is pretty quick). And when I do try to make a properly fast hot hatch, the result is generally pretty disappointing. What sorcery is this…
Leo: I also wished to use a 3.7L inline 6, only the body I chose doesn’t fit one, hence I decided on the V6 instead.
Obviously I’m going to include the weighted stats in the car reveals but apart from those, how much information, how much information would you like on each car? Should I release it how I release the cars at Mason Engineering or should I just include the weighted stats? Let me know.
And thanks Leonardo. I plan on using this format for my challenges from now on but with different years and car classes but then again it can be limited by the amount of cars that we have in the game right now.
Alright, count me in; I’ll get my entrant to you as soon as possible!
You have to get your car in fast because I have one pending entry that has lua errors and only one space left. But it is a first come first served basis. Good Luck.
Here’s my late entrant!
The 2015 Erin Tauga Vox, in Pacific Ocean Blue.
Da Wooden Cog proudly presents…
Its faster around the Top Gear Test track, more powerful, and more fuel efficent then the BMW 318i (E46)!
All yours for the low price of 16987.69
^^ of course a BMW 318i has only 129HP and moe than 15 years later it would be poor if it’s not more efficent. -> my car has at least twice as much power than locomotives aroud 1850 and has much cleaner emmisions
no offence.
BTW, have you notice how everybody thinks he builds a super cheap preamium car, didn’t Killrob mentioned in one Video that the salesprice is circa double that high to serve R&D and so on. It’s the productionprice not the salesprice thats shown in Sandboxfinal testingtab.
We know, that’s why the OP said sales price is $50,000. build costs are $16,999 to denote that these will not be high volume cars but more exclusive limited runs.
Give them some credit, the production run ran till around 2007. There is nothing wrong with marketing comparing it to a car made in the previous decade. Besides, I just looked at the top gear test track times and picked a random car slower then mine to compare to. Times are actually more comparable with the Subaru Impreza and the Subaru has a more powerful engine then I do. But speed is not suppose to be important in this.
Side note, I would like to see your car try and tow a load of 40 to 50 tons.
ENTRIES TO THIS COMPETITION ARE NOW CLOSED.
Thank you to all who have entered. As stated previously, I will now run through my control car that I created to test what scores are achievable. The mean and median stats will come later. Please refrain from revealing too much about your cars for now because I plan on revealing the cars one by one in reverse order of their position.
But, without further ado, my control car.

Interesting. That’s a very sporty car you’ve got there. Some stats are very similar to mine, but others…not so much

Having sorted out the data, I can now reveal the mean stats of all the cars. I can also make averages of the non-weighted stats (like power, lap times and engine stats) that I included with my control car if you guys want. Just let me know if you would be interested in that.

Strop will hate me for this…
But my car seems rather bad all of a sudden
I can officially report that my car isn’t winning the endurance contest…
I’m pretty happy with the drivability of my car now, but I kinda wasted Fuel octane and money because I used DFI for a smoother experience. I hope it pays off…
