Lukerules117s land barge thread with the stupidly long title

So I pretty much have no options other than getting a somewhat new car or a car that would be out of my budget and still probably need lots of work to get in running condition. And with a newer car I’d probably end up with a higher power to weight ratio than I’d want and I just wouldn’t trust them to last.

That’s pretty much what you said 21 hours ago, thanks for reminding us.

Also, if you think you can’t handle anything with more than 50 hp/ton, you can always buy something like the early 00s equivalent of a Mitsubishi Mirage, or any GM product.

If you’re gonna drive something with a V8, you’d better get used to the high torque output on some of those engines. Especially if you plan on driving it year round. When I first got my old Silverado, I had to take it out in the snow without the 4WD, and I almost never got anything so much as wheels pin pulling out from a stop.

Snow isn’t a concern at all, even rain will rarely be an issue which is one of the(few) benefits of where I live, but that said I am expecting quite a bit of torque, but I still think I could handle it. And I was thinking, because one of the main reasons an 80’s car wouldn’t be a good idea is smog checks, however I’m not sure if diesel engines need to have smog checked, so that is another thing I could consider and brings back old Mercedes into consideration.

And so the thread plunges back into severe retardation…

what do you mean?

How old are you?

Can i make a suggestion then…Honda Accord

Buy a 96+ Honda Civic, 96+ Toyota Camry, 96+ Anything.

The 80s MBZ 300D series, while they were tough cars, parts availability is getting to be rather bad now. We are talking about decades obsolete cars.

I feel sorry that your parents have to payroll your ignorance.

Don’t honda’s tend to have somewhat bad automatic transmissions?

Ehh, it’s their fault for not telling me anything, but part of it is just that I hate the styling of new cars as well as not trusting a lot of their features.

And it is your problem for being an unrealistic twat.

Buy an 80s car, stop posting about how much you hate styling. Suffer, and when you come crawling back because of your own horrible decisions, do not expect an iota of sympathy from us.

You have been warned.

Lol all auto transmissions are bad for reliability if you dont service them. A filter change and oil change and it should drive like new. There are millions of them worldwide and in the 90’s Honda made very good reliable and cheap cars.
bottomline is all cars have faults and if its your first you will trash it…sorry but thats what inexperienced drivers do. They make mistakes

Once again it’s not my fault for not being told anything up until now, and in all honestly I hate making decisions.

I’m aware that I probably will, but I at least wont be driving that much because I dont have a job yet so it will probably last a while at least, that said I really dont want to have to deal with having such a small car, I feel like it would be really cramped.

Stop being a twat. Guess what, you are going to find out you need to make decisions in a few short years. I look forward to seeing you flop when the imbecilic cord gets cut.

I have no illusions of being successful at all in my life, I expect nothing more than a minimum wage job that I’ll hate and hopefully being able to keep it for most of my life, being stuck here, hating pretty much every aspect of my life and having nothing in my life really :\ but my point it isn’t MY fault, its everyone elses and its just the way things have to be for me.

Every decision you make, is entirely your own choice, good, bad, or otherwise. I would love to have your parents read what you just wrote.

But I don’t really have choices to make, and I honestly want to keep it that way for as long as possible, and they already know I felt that way, and honestly I’d just want to take advantage of them as much as i can because I know my life is only going to be downhill.

Are you a minor? Sounds like you are. YOU have your own life in your hands, whatever you do is solely your fault you buy a Cadillac Seville STS and endup with repair and fuel bills in the thousands, despite everyone telling that buying that car is a huge mitstake? Thats your own fault… Or you are just a massive troll.

German life pro tip: Don’t buy a American Luxobarge, unless you love paying high repair bills or high fuel bills. Go for a Honda Civic or some random Ford Focus.
