up until this thread nobody told me it was a bad idea, and im not deadset on any certain model of car I was just hoping that there would at least be some kind of car at least somewhat similar to what Iā€™d want that wouldnā€™t be too unreasonable.

Why? What have I ever done? Why does everyone get so pissed off at me

My 2C on the original quest for a nice American luxury barge:

Either get a panther platform as @KLinardo has repeatedly suggestedā€¦

OR

Get a 1991-2004 Buick with the 3800 V6
My personal experience with Buicks and the 3800 series has been great! The only major thing thatā€™s needed to be fixed is head gaskets. The Buick Park Ave. Ultra is even better with the supercharged 3800 at the high end for Buick luxury. The drivetrain will last Well Past the body. Iā€™ve drove several that were well over 200,000 miles. Their body was going to pot, but the engine/drivetrain was perfect!

A panther platform is still under consideration, itā€™s just that I found out Iā€™d have to get a 96+ one and now Iā€™m considering a late 90ā€™s/early 2000ā€™s buick a bit more now that 80ā€™s panther platform cars are out of the question.

Seriously, can we close this thread before someone gets an aneurysm. Lots of friction. Luke, if you are going to engage in a friendly and productive argument for towards a productive outcome, do so. DONā€™T come in here, disagree with everything we say and then go ahead to tell us that we need to make choices for youā€¦ and nothing is your fault.

Please.

@lukerules117 also, you donā€™t need to be sorry, just understand that getting mad at us because weā€™re pissed at you for not cooperating and actingā€¦ objectively (relative to the rest of *normal* humans) brattish is not going to help either.

sorry. but I wasnā€™t really mad at any of you, it just seemed like all of you were mad at me.

Well, I have a hard time finding an idea for a car for you now.

I guess an early 2000s Crown Vic or Grand Marquis with normal spring-based suspension would be your best bet. Cheap to buy, cheap to run (good reliability, cheap parts, not bad mileage), not old enough to be worn out, your budget can get you a tip-top pristine example.

Huhā€¦ for some reason the site marked your reply as already been read, and so I didnā€™t notice it. But yeah an early 2000ā€™s crown vic or grand marquis is what Iā€™d want(or the closest I could get reasonably), However I recently found out that I might be able to get a 97 Toyota Avalon with under 100K miles in pretty much perfect shape from my grandma so thatā€™s another thing to consider and most likely what I will end up with now that I actually found out about it.

Yeah, Iā€™d also get the Avalon in such a situation.

its kinda funny having only 5 digit odometers after 99999 kilometers the car becomes brand new again
