Luminou requirements for lights

While it might be too hard to have a full regulation of lights and indicators. It should be easy to count the total luminous flux of your main headlamps just like the radiating stuff, based on the light fixture’s type, size and position.
And I think there should be some basic requirment by law of luminous flux and/or intensity.
Don’t worry pop-up headlamp lovers, that fixture could have it’s good luminous parameter regradless of it’s sheap
Also, more and brighter lights could have effects on utility and/or safety.
I do believe that too many restriction could be harm to player’s creativity, but some basic limitation could make this game more realistic.

That makes sense, but I wouldn’t like to see this implemented as a requirement in the game. Designing a good 200 cars during a full campaign playthrough I don’t want to force people to have to slap down the right amount of headlights and indicators on every one of them. After a while, I think many players not role-playing the campaign will not design their cars aesthetically at all.

:joy: Yes, we are too lazy to put lights on the car, that’s why some enforcement is needed.
The real car would have no lights too if it’s not required, to save costs or weight, like some race cars
Well, maybe the “Track” market could accept a car without lights…

The thing is that in the end it’s not going to make much of a difference.

Just that instead of lazy cars looking like the first car, they would look like the second one.

I can randomly slap fixtures on a car all day long, in the end it doesn’t add anything to the game to force me to do so.

trackpaduser pretty much stated what i was going to write, would be rather pointless

In multiplayer tycoon mode there should be an aesthetic voting competition.
Like, there will be times during gameplay were one player will have nothing to do while other is still designing cars. To give something for the faster guy to do, he could be rating the cars for sale that year aesthetics wise. While the others finish their cars.
Either it is turn based or real time there will always be downtime waiting for some players.
The voting for best looking car in BRC always seems fair so I think the concept of aesthetic voting is proven.
