MEN Nutfahrzeuge AG (originally TTL GmbH, standing for Truck and Transport Logistics) is one of the world's leading providers of commercial vehicles. In 1957, as part of De-Stalinization of the Eastern Bloc, Premier Nikita Khrushchev transferred production of light trucks and farm equipment to Tarnów, Poland under MEN Truck and Transport Logistics GmbH.
The company created vans, tractors and light trucks for both civilian and government use. The vehicles originally were made specifically for the local Polish Market, but ended up being popular due to their robust engineering, later being exported across the eastern bloc, and some even ended up on the other side of the iron curtain, such as their partnership with the Brazilian Gamma Industries
After the downfall of the Soviet Union, the company shifted their headquarters to Munich due to the presence of street racers disrupting the logistics of the company.
In the early 2000s, the company Purchased Innis Motor Co, acquiring their bus subdivision and a portion of their civilian vehicle division for the North American Market. The company leveraged their synergies for light commercial vehicles despite cultural differences.
Today the company is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers, producing light, medium, and heavy duty vehicles of all types from Busses, Lorries, and farm equipment. The company also offers manufacturing as a service for various OEMs.
