Mille Monti 1953 [PROCESSING]

I’m also new and couldn’t find the #challenges channel on official discord. Turns out it’s not on by default you have to go to “Channels & Roles” at the top of left menu and pick “Community challenges!” as an area you’re interested in. Hope it helps

Thanks man ! I learnt about this competition through Der Bayer’s youtube channel after watching his luxury car playthrough, trying to find a tutorial to automation campaign xD

I didn’t even know that automation had a discord server

Running FR right now, but I’m running tiny tyres with 10in rims so that might be why. I’ll try bumping to 11 or 12in. Thank you :))

I think there is an option in the paint tab for your exhaust. If you can’t fix it, just use the transparent material.

The engineering is done, the paperwork has been send, the flights have been booked … Belgian outfit Layton is proud to announce its participation in the 1953 Mille Monti!

Presenting the brand new Layton F4/212 “Newlyn”:

A two door sports car, available both as a coupé and a spyder, with a front-mounted 850cc boxer 4 engine. It sports 83 horsepowers and has a rev limiter at the dazzling height of 12000 RPM. Furthermore, a combination of light weight, front-wheel drive and excellent suspension tuning makes for an easy yet fun and engaging driving experience. In the cabin you will find comfortable seats, a top quality dashboard and an AM radio.

Due to the outstanding driving characteristics and small engine the F4/212 is expected to be many a racing driver’s first real race car. Hence we called it “Newlyn”, Welsh for “new pond” or “new lake”. Also a name with a pronunciation closely resembling the Dutch word “nieuweling”, which means “rookie” or “novice”. We hope that many succesful careers are going to be started in this little jewel.
Front-wheel drive + 4 cylinders + 212cc per cylinder = F4/212 “Newlyn”

Here is the yellow painted car which will drive the 1953 Mille Monti. Young drivers Gilles and Pietro were eager to show off their abilities as well as the cars’ durability to the press.

Team Layton wants to wish their competitors the best of luck and is looking forward to the event!

In all seriousness, I had a blast making a car for this event. Good luck everyone!

Here’s the car in beamng for those who want to give her a spin. The downloaded zip file goes into “AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.31\mods”.

Hi!

First post, but I submitted mine last week, but like a fool didn’t realise I could’ve had a hardtop and saved like 80kg in weight. Ah well! Hopefully the effort on styling will pay off even if the reduced times are “less optimal”.

Introducing the Gauntlett GS-613 RoadSport - A car that many are already calling “an accident waiting to happen”

The fine chaps at Gauntlett have thrown the 1200cc Folksbil Typ 1 Flat 4 variant out of their flagship sports coupé, shoehorned in a prototype homebrew 1300cc Flat-6 in its place and removed everything unnecessary, including the roof, all comfort and any semblance that this thing will not send you off a Fruinian mountain backwards.

A peak at the Spitfire GT-M, coming soon!

Some tweaks still need to be made, and debating on whether to try an interior or not, but the outside looks are about where id like, and mechanically everything is good so id figure id show her off a bit

Thanks for getting back before I could. Yes, it’s the Pre-War car pack. It’s also the place to get the leather straps and the spare tyre I used (although the mod that specifically gives you a identical copy of your tyre is probably better).

I never realized that the random grey bar in misc. is what those were… thank you for the help

Yeah the thumbnails for them are questionable.

Here it is! my entry to the Mille Monti 1953, the Galeria Crestone specially developed for the competition, although being developed with a very low budget in hands, several days were spent fine tuning the engine and the car, in order to (atleast try) compete with the other, more powerful categories of the competition, it was a very fun thing to do, learned alot doing it and i hope i didn’t mess up anything while i was sending the docs, good luck to everyone, may we have a good run!

In the heart of Fruinia, nestled amidst the rolling hills and picturesque landscapes, stood the struggling car company, Velocitàr. Giovanni, the patriarch, gathered his sons, Luca and Marco, in the dimly lit office overlooking the factory floor.

“Sons,” Giovanni began, his voice tinged with concern, “the future of Velocitàr hangs in the balance. We’re on the verge of collapse, and I fear we may not survive.”

Luca and Marco exchanged worried glances, their hearts heavy with the weight of their father’s words. But then, Marco’s eyes lit up with a spark of inspiration. “What if we entered the upcoming Mille Monti race? It could be our chance to showcase Velocitàr’s resilience and innovation to the world!”

Giovanni’s weary expression softened with a glimmer of hope. “It’s a risky gamble, but perhaps with enough determination, we could turn the tide.”

And so, with Giovanni’s hesitant blessing, the brothers embarked on an audacious mission to transform Velocitàr’s latest creation, the Uccelino, into a racing legend.

They poured their hearts and souls into every aspect of the car’s design and development. The Uccelino was more than just a vehicle; it was a symbol of their family’s legacy, a testament to their unwavering spirit in the face of adversity.

With meticulous attention to detail, they fine-tuned the 700cc engine, pushing its limits to 850cc for maximum power. They crafted custom exhaust headers and optimized the aerodynamics, ensuring the Uccelino would cut through the air like a sleek arrow.

But it was the name that truly captured the essence of their creation—the Velocitàr Uccellino, a nod to their company’s heritage and their determination to defy the odds.

As the day of the race dawned, Luca and Marco stood proudly beside their creation, their hearts pounding with anticipation. But as they prepared to embark on their journey to glory, Giovanni’s words lingered in the air, casting a shadow of doubt over their hopes and dreams.

“This better work for publicity because we’ve spent two months’ marketing budget on this car,” Giovanni said, his voice tinged with uncertainty, leaving Luca and Marco teetering on the edge of a precipice, unsure of what the future held for Velocitàr and their family legacy.

I think I finally ran out of possibilities, and I’m satisfied with the appearance of the car. This little car promises performance between to 10:30h and 10:40h

I’ve been seriously struggling with letting go of this project and submitting it, fully knowing that it is the definition of mid, as it is barely breaking into the 11:30s. As my first foray into any kind of serious detail, here she is, The Bumble Bee.
