Multi caliper brakes

i used the search button and i couldn’t find any topic about multi caliper brakes. just watched chrisfix and i saw him installing those brakes. and i was thinking, is that a thing?

the good thing would be good braking distance

bad thing. it can lock up easy :frowning:

Unless you can find an example on a mass produced car it’s probably a little outside the scope for the game :stuck_out_tongue:

(I have to say it’s the first time I’ve ever come across this and I can’t work out why on Earth you’d actually want it!)

I know that’s a thing for military vehicles that avoid using pneumatic brakes… but I didn’t know that road cars have started using that too.

That said, I haven’t seen a situation where Automation’s 6-piston calipers aren’t enough, so I doubt we would require something like this.

i would doubt that it would be necessary that a car needs it that much. like 6 pistons aren’t enough

The only production cars I’ve ever seen something akin to this were on older GMs with early disc brakes, where one caliper was used for the handbrake only. And to be honest, that seems incredibly niche. =P

Double caliper cars?

Rolls-Royces or Bentley Continental, there you go.

What are you talking about? Neither of them have that.

High end cars have more pistons per caliper, but not more calipers.

A few cars have extra calipers for the handbrake, but that would be a fairly pointless choice for the game.

The Audi R8 have dual brake calipers on the rear, but, as @RomeoReject said, one is very small and used only for parking brake (i suppose).

Even if this configuration is “common” i don’t think adding on Automation will improve the gameplay.
