Even the most aggressive cam profile in the game wonât let an engine breathe properly much past 9000 rpm, the maximum allowable redline is âonlyâ 12,000 rpm, and we canât make engines with a crazy bore/stroke ratios. They might be worthwhile for a race engine if those issues changed, but those issues wonât change because automation is about production cars and production car engines (for which, btw, pneumatic valve springs are wholly unsuitable anyway).
The F1 style wouldnât be of any use really as all theyâre for is returning the valves successfully at crazy high RPM.
The Konigsegg valvetrain hardware WOULD be of use because it would allow for pretty much infinitely variable cam profile, so itâd completely blow everything else out of the water performance wise.
Weâd consider implementing the 2nd one at some point in the future.
