I think I know what car that is.
Exactly as I had expected. Considering that I had adapted it from one of my FM4 entries, this verdict isn’t too surprising. And unlike the Mara that currently leads the standings, the Thunderwolf is not a stripped-out modern race/rally car, but a 90s high-end sports car with a luxury interior/CD player, which makes its result even more remarkable in retrospect.
And fingers crossed that the LS40 (my only other entry) manages to go even faster on its run.
Glober. Genuinely surprised, gobsmacked even, that you managed a decent time out of that horrific machine.
Now that I think about it, putting a wing on would’ve cost me about 10 seconds and would probably have improved the drivability by ten times. But hey even the time I set in the glober was faster by a minute compared to the shitstain that is the minivan
My small entry has 300+ hp to the front and no traction control. Ruh roh!
I hope my tires are good enough…
I drove it in beam as well, and I feel the same.
Don’t threaten him with a good time. Unless you’re in to that sort of thing.
Another fresh batch of suffering has now been harvested. It was immediately on a whole other level just starting with the first car, and of course that will only get even more intense further down into my descent to madness. Here are the current standings:
Videos are linked in the spreadsheet as always. Here’s a description of how each car from this round drove:
-
@SheikhMansour - An absolute handful to drive, but it is a fucking rocket once it is under control. If it was easier to drive, it could have easily taken the top spot, but the king still stands for now.
-
@Madrias - A 600 horsepower FWD land barge that was only as good as expected. It is pretty fast on the highways, but it’s HORRIBLE everywhere else; it takes ages to turn and the brakes barely work. The only way to slightly ease the pain was with turning on ECS.
-
@happyfireballman - HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS THING SINGLEHANDEDLY MADE ME HATE RHANIA MORE THAN BETTERDEALS. I HAVE TO FIGHT FOR MY LIFE IN EVERY SINGLE CORNER BECAUSE OF THIS STUPID JELLY BUILD ASS SUSPENSION ALWAYS PUTS ME AT RISK OF ROLLING OVER. BE HAPPY I WAS ABLE TO PUT UP WITH THIS PILE OF SHIT AND NOT DNF IT WITH THIS PATHETIC TIME, AND THAT IT ISN’T DEAD LAST ONLY BECAUSE I WAS BRAVE ENOUGH TO GO 235 MPH ON THE HIGHWAYS. THAT IS IT’S ONLY REDEEMING FACTOR.
-
@vero94773 - Finally, a car that isn’t awful to drive! What a relief. It tends to be a bit oversteery at times, but that’s just the fun of mid-engine. It all payed off in the end with just above a 31 minute lap.
-
@abg7 - Drives very similar to the previous car, but this time without AWD but it has better acceleration. No wonder why they finish within a second of eachother.
-
@Happyhungryhippo - Quite similar to your last car, but surprisingly, I found this one to be better to drive, most likely due to the lighter weight. It still could use some wider tires though.
-
@Texaslav - My favorite car to drive yet; it’s really easy to keep under control while still being really quick with crazy acceleration and handling. It well deserves it’s 30 minute lap.
-
@DuceTheTruth100 - The previous car but with a turbo. That’s pretty much it. There have been zero changes to the suspension tune, the tires are exactly the same, there are still no aero fixtures on it, and the brake sizes have been slightly increased, except for the pad type. As a result, it drives like complete garbage with little grip and fading brakes. How could a performance trim be so lazy? I’ve driven literal race cars with more than double the power that are more pleasant.
-
@xsneakyxsimx - A well all-rounded car. It’s slidey albeit still controllable, and has a surprisingly high top speed for what it is.
-
@nicxv - I’m surprised on how controllable and fast this was, it’s enough to make it not feel like the body on frame-solid rear axle boat it actually is. Just another well balanced car overall.
Now for the fourth group of cars, we immedietly start out with a battle between 2 restomodded land barges, the Armor Brougham Wagon and the Excelsus. It looks like quite the interesting match-up, although the Armor has a slight teeny tiny advantage with more power, less weight, all wheel drive, and reasonable ground clearance. I wonder which of the two will do better?
Then, near the end, I get to drive a steam roller, a UFO, and a 1000 hp woody wagon all in that order. They will certainly produce some of the runs of all time.
Glad my Devil Z knockoff was at least more controllable than the inspiration.
The black car was a definite rush job, i was actually tuning another car before i made the last minute change…and ended up rushing.
The first car was slow with all the traction aids in the world which equals boring…perfect chic car id imagine.
I appreciate the feedback and look foward to seeing this go on, i havent watched the videos but this reminds me of Tom Henks…dope shit.
Ill definitely come wit some fire next time if this continues
Again, that’s exactly what I’d expected. However, the LS40 was indeed faster overall than the Akari, though not by much. Part of this may be due to its much higher top speed (>200 mph) and lighter weight (<1200 kg). It also explains why its final time was nearly 30 seconds faster than what the Thunderwolf managed.
someone also made a restomodded land barge?
may the best landbarge win
The other one is mine. Excited to see how ours match up against each other.
It takes a very skilled driver to drive the Ares widowmaker in one piece across the finish line.
I saw only one major driving mistake but many epic saves, including the lucky rollover.
Damn, you’re really good at Beam.
considering yours is supposedly AWD i feel like mine might lose out
on the other hand i have the power of poland and an LS7 engine on my side so you never know
Damn I’m about to be knocked out of the top 10
Need to make better cars
Then again, they’re fully loaded with NA RWD V8s
So are mine
Now I am just wondering if my wagon will be any faster than the Vette. If anybody can pull it off it’s LS, that thing is a handful and a half
Out of the 3 “Super Cars” that were going “Head to Head” with eachother, i came out last… Sigh
You did beat my Howitzer
Wait, is this really necessary? After reading this review I went back into my Automation and tried using compensatory tyre offset (rear width - front width, added to front offset) on all of my cars with staggered tyres, but when I did so the front track width noticeably increased, leading me to believe it is autocompensated.
