Mr cars have rather different dynamics. If I recall correctly, it’s possible to get this body down to under 2:04 around the AT track (I’ll go back and look at the times when I get home). You just need to find the right setup. It’s largely to do with the weight distribution.
Yes, but a good time at the airfield is around 1:30 for cars in the 200 hp range and this one has almost 400.
Post a screenshot of specs? That’d probably provide us more info.
There is one on the previous page
Oh yeah. My bad, it didn’t load for me the first time.
While I don’t know what your settings are, the handling is pretty badly affected by lift. Try an aero fixture (though its exact placement will vary), and making the front tyres a lot narrower.
Thanks for the tip but I dont think it’s the setup that makes 20 seconds slower than all my other cars with half as much horsepower.
I have tried aeros, brakes and everything already and I can get it to 2:50 but that’s still not enough.
Is it a turbo with aggressive boost? Mr cars especially HATE those.
I’m really curious now. Would you like me to take a look at the car and see if I can’t work it out?
I tried with other chassis and engines and it affects ALL cars with mid engines.
They are all up to a minute slower than they should be. I tried the Lotus Esprit wedge car, the C-Group prototype and the largest chassis from the official version (it has the same behavior).
So this is not specifically related to this mod.
So then it’s something to do with MR cars. But without knowing what it is, presumably, about your engine, I’m not sure what the cause would be.
I dont use turbos.
I think it’s a waste of time but here you go global-explorer.de/20150206/V8.zip
P.S. my fastest car is 2:35 min (Automation Test Track) and 1:31 on the airfield with a 2L 4 cylinder 200HP
this one is ~ 3:00 and 1:47
Well, we shall see, when I get home from work!
Since when is power and top speed equivalent to a quick track time…
What are your tyre widths and better yet… what is your sportiness and tameness value.
I’m not going to answer such questions.
Post your track times for a comparable mid engined car (ca 1965) so we can compare them.
I already compared them to many other cars. An 1100 cc car can do 2:41, so I dont see how a a 4.2L car could take 3:00 minutes.
It even happens on the airfield track where the hp advantage should be even greater.
For me, it seems that you don’t know how cars work and you are blaming the game for you stupidity.
If you put a huge engine on a car with narrow tyres, you will have lots of wheelspin and a hard car to drive, both things will make it slower around a track. There is a limit to what cars can handle through their tyres, and once you are passed that limit, you will only make things worse.
I have downloaded your car, and having 0.2 tameness and 19 sportiness is a sign of a terrible car. It isn’t balanced and of course it won’t handle.
In 10 mins or so, I should have a lap time.

I am not going to help such unfriendly people… dude serious, work on your attitude
How come you think that much power equals a good track time? High power does not equal good performance on a track.
Ok we’ll see. I usually dont care for the artificial metrics like tameness /sportiness, what do they even mean?
And that answers the question
They indeed are very artificial. The game simply pulls them out of its finger and presents it to you. The dev team just drank some absinthe, wrote something on a paper and thats how the calculations were created. In fact they dont make any sense to me either.
Seriously, click on “Detailed Stats” and you see whats affecting what… build a responsible 1.2L City Hatchback and you see how it buffs out.
0.2 Tameness means you try to use a very twitch car, with sponge brakes and bicycle wide tyres. I have not looked at you car, as i can GUESS the problem just by reading some stats.
You build a mediocre car and blame that the game sucks… just look at what other people build and learn.
If you dont care for “artificial” metrics, dont complain if your cars suck.
I have a version of that car with tech year 74 that I made to be like a super car of the era and it does 2:38.
It’s not a superb lap time, but the car has some pointless luxuries like a radio and insulation.
It also has a magnificent 4.1 liter all aluminium V8 with 4 Weber carbs.
So if a barely optimized 1974 tech version of that body can do 2:38, the car can definitively get better laptimes.
As for sportiness and tameness, those indicate how sporty the car is and how easy to drive it is. While they may appear magical at first, if you look at the details they take into accound interesting things like wheelspin, brake fade and other things that do affect a car’s performance IRL.
Ok if it’s tameness, here is a screenshot of the detailed stats: http://www.global-explorer.de/20150206/stats.jpg
There is indeed an unusual lateral acceleration of -45.6%.
I wanted bigger tyres but for some reason the game does not let me mount larger than 185mm.
