Exactly. Also would moving the year into 2003 make it more expensive?
I don’t have the ability to fix it as I will be busy this week. Fu-
No. In fact, the opposite is generally true.
So how much does it cost now? It was $30,000 so would my estimation be around $29,000?
Newer tech is generally more expensive; if you wind back the trim year, some of the existing trim options will no longer be available in the new trim year, and must be replaced by a more primitive (but cheaper) equivalent.
I mean, most of the technology in the truck probably existed in the 2000s and so it wouldn’t change. Could you see if turning it to 2003 would change some things?
The things I know that are in the truck goes as follows:
ABS
CD
Standard 2000s safety
All of those items are available by 2003 - changing the model/trim year to 2003 would therefore not make them inaccessible. That alone won’t be enough - you must also set the engine family year to 2003, then do the same thing with the variant year.
So I may have fixed the issue? I’m not sure?
For some reason the suspension was higher than it should have been, so I changed it and managed to cut the cost by 6k… not reaching the original 24k but close enough.
Weird.
From the 1970s Maddison had been becoming less and less adept at producing sporty vehicles, the brand name and symbolism of their early 60s roadsters being reduced to boring econoboxes and basic family cars.
But no more. For the 6th generation 750 Maddison went back to their racing roots, and pulled out all the stops. The result?
The Thundercat.
With a 5.4L Supercharged V8 outputting 350Hp and 507Nm of torque, the Thundercat was anything but dull. With all power going to the rear wheels, the Thundercat achieved a 0-60 time of under 5 seconds, and could easily reach 160mph- all whilst retaining an economy of 14 (US) mpg.
The Thundercat also came with a Limited Slip Differential, 18 inch alloys, P225/50R tyres and large 300mm disk brakes are mounted front and rear.
Creature comforts are all present, with a comfortable sports interior and a high-end CD system, aswell as full electric power steering, traction control and anti-lock brakes.
The cherry on top of the Thundercat cake was the price tag- a measly $28,000, the same price as a mid-range sedan model.
You almost risked confusion with a company of mine… But that one was from 4.1 (not 4.2x) and is therefore now non-canonical.
As for the truck itself, the introductory chant to the 80s Thundercats cartoon would be appropriate for it:
Ah, glad someone caught onto the Thundercats homage, although, it wasn’t particularly subtle now, was it?
OK, tonight we’re about 18 hours from submission cutoff as of now, which will be on the 15th at 12:00EST

Valentine Motor Corp has been producing sports cars & utility vehicles alike for many years, but never have they combined the 2 into one vehicle, until now. The Uton line of pickup trucks & vans have been produced since the late 1960’s, first starting as a mini truck, the most recent iteration (5th gen) has been upgraded to a full size half ton truck for the year of 2001. New for 2003 is an all new trim, the Uton-R “Twister” - this variant borrows an engine from the Valentine Varilax, now complete with a single turbo setup for additional output and improved fuel economy. This truck truly has it all, for the low cost of $30,000

There seems to be some 5.4L V8s after I posted mine…
No offence boss but I’ve been building this truck for a week, didn’t even realize yours was a 5.4
Yo, I can’t get on my computer as of this week so could you just modify to 2003? I tried but I got many things to do this week and I don’t want to put this truck in the bin.
That’s not on the host to fix your issues.
same, mine was a 5.4 before it even went in the truck; it was originally supposed to be a completely different car.
I would advise against accusing other entrants of stealing ideas, even if it is in a somewhat nonchalant way as you have done here. it can make you seem a bit rude.
Besides, I would take it as a compliment if someone were to take an idea of mine- evidently they thought it was good, no?
Well, of course I wait a little for other entrants if I dont have fitting cars in my brand lore - to see what they did and maybe get Inspiration.
But I would never copy other cars, it would steal all the fun for me.
And the tighter the ruleset, the more resemblance of the entries. And its a little off to post a challenge entry in public (does not make sense at all) and then accuse others for stealing (No hate intended)
Bearing in mind the ford f150 svt lightning had a 5.4l V8 it’s no surprise it’s a popular engine size in this challenge
