Nice to see my weird french thing may have gotten P6, it was nice of you to volunteer to get this sorted when the actual host had issues. Though, I do feel bad for Shinybat and his situation. He did produce an excellent brief though [not at all biased], and 1 that seemed to get many of us interested.

The least expensive ($15,600)

I’m surprised, but also not surprised at all. Because when I make the car, I thought “this is going to be on a cheaper end, isn’t it?” but I didn’t think it would be the least expensive lol.

I’m satisfied with the results, even though it’s P11 but that’s fine. Congrats to everyone!

I think the low reliability was the result of using a lot of relatively complex components (e.g. VVT, VVL, variable hydraulic steering, ESC) and not using quality points to bolster reliability. Simpler components

As for fuel efficiency, I think a lot of it was just inherent in using a 2.4L I5 engine, while the most common engine type appeared to be an I4 somewhere in the 1.5-2L range. But it also looks like a lower cam profile, softer lifter springs, and a less rich fuel map could have gained you about a bit of a boost in fuel economy without sacrificing too much power.

I think it was the size of the car in general that caused your biggest problems. It had the second largest footprint and was significantly larger than most other entries, which was a direct hit to scoring. The engine is efficient but just big at 2.4L and then hauling around a large vehicle–in turn leading to poor fuel economy. Not a bad car, just didn’t hit the sweet spot for size in this particular challenge.

I’m disappointed to come in dead last, but hey, it was my first challenge entry, so i won’t beat myself up over it. I can’t believe the comfort score was so bad, I thought i had a solid entry - I’ll have to look into that.
