When you get to the engineering part where you can select cost/quality, the game need to show the time/cost breakdown at least by category, so you can go and test out variants that need less development time without sacrificing too much market appeal and quality
But the game does that already, doesn’t it? Or am I missing the point?
it tells you for each piece, if you go and hover on each of them comparing line by line to what you’ve selected
it’d be nice to expand the lines in this engineering screen https://youtu.be/V1QodfEY45c?t=32m22s
so you can see for each trim how much body, chassis, drivetrain contributes to the resulting totals, same for engines, top end, bottom end, aspiration etc grouped so that if one’s hunting for a reduction in price or engineering time there’s a hint of where to go looking.
sure it comes with experience that one part costs more than that other etc, but after you start factoring in quality, familiarity and all the minuscole variations of each component it’s just annoying to hunt if you don’t know the game by heart.
