Realism Challenge 5- Super Economy Car

Car is 2010. But as an advertiser we add it to the blurb…along with the free insurance from our subsiduary company!

And not every car after 96 has OBDii.

I have a Mitsi that has an OB type port but it’s certainly not an OB port. :frowning:

TR8R I would like to ask you for the class that your car is in just for confirmation- I have already totted up the scores but as per the norm, they will only be released a few days after the deadline in case we have a few stragglers.

White Knight is a small coupe.

Is that a car in the US? Because US regulations required that On Board Diagnostic systems be standardized by the model year 1996. Hence OBDII. Most cars had the service port under the steering column but it was not required until a few years later. Which is why I’ve seen some with the connector hidden in the center console or behind the ashtray.

Presenting a perfect car for a first time driver, a 1994 Petoskey Legion SE.

First built in 1994, the Legion represented the basic sedan for the public. It was inexpensive, reliable, safe, and a good all around sedan.

The SE was the higher end trim featuring a CD player/Cassette and power seats and windows. We at Petoskey know that the most important thing in your life is your child. That is why the Legion is equipped with the latest safety features in our time including dual air bags, plus the new Petoskey DRIVESAFE package. The DRIVESAFE system was developed as a way to bring automotive safety into the digital age. The system uses ABS and traction control to make sure the Legion is in control regardless of adverse weather conditions.

Under the hood sits a sturdy 3.3L V6 mated to a 4FE2 transmission. This delivers a healthy 26 mpg average. Originally found in the 1991 Stasera, the 3.3 has proven to be a solid, economical engine. While 133 horsepower isn’t what you would see in a sports car, it is more than adequate for moving the Legion around.

Your child may appreciate this car, but I imagine you’ll be borrowing it for yourself when you see how smooth and comfortable this car is to drive.

All this can be yours for only $18920

Petoskey: Simple budget. Exquisite taste.

shortly after the first smartphone, we released the first really smart car in 2000: the seat positioning, the ride height, the quality of the interior equipment and driver assists of the Vagabundo SE give you the feeling of driving a spacious executive sedan. however, the Vagabundo’s exterior is so tiny you can fit it in any parking spot and it is agile enough for any highway trip. with a consumption of 5.63 l/100 km, this is the true next generation’s car. starting at $ 11440,-

using a v6 1.5 liter making 149 HP. this engine loves to rev almost to 9k. engine is easy to maintain and repair.

it uses all steel body and a advanced safety, and managed to weight only 1265 KG
0-100 km is 8.7 seconds, which is not impressing, but for beginners its fair
top speed is only 230 KM/h, but for this engine its enough

the suspension is cheap, basic, simple. all passive, so its easier to fix and replace

the price is cheap too 12K
and you even get a decent fuel economy of 7.5 liter per 100 KM

this is the ideal car for car enthusiasts who want a good-looking, rear engined, sports car

I am afraid that if i do not recieve the file for the car i can not get more than half of the judgement points and thus you will be unable to get entered

tbh, i am still contemplating: as it stands i might actually enter with another car cause there is still so much money to spend on improvements. we still got more than a week, don’t we? i simply struggle to get an idea how to match my idea of an entry level car with the the scoring criteria. is practicality beint totally worthless, how are price and economy weighed etc. the more i think of this the more i am leaning towards going totally bonkers again

edit: to give a more useful feedback. i prefer challenges that give you the possibility to be very creative about your approach. however, with the amount of money to spend here and the different perceptions of what an entry level car is, i tend to think it is quite useless to make different marginal choices to achieve that tiny bit of economy, drivability or practicality i would expect to be needed. don’t get me wrong, the ruleset is totally fine. i just think i had something else in mind when i built my supposed entry.

last edit: i was aiming at City, City eco, Pony Budget, light Sport Budget, commuter and alike. now that i try out something more expensive i end up in the City premium and fun premium segments with still more than 8k Budget and i can’t think of it scoring worse.

2008 Maesima Avellca

Category: Small Exec. Sedan

The 2008 Maesima Avellca was an important model for the brand, the new design moved more upmarket and helped cement the brand’s recognition on the international stage. The Avellca was a mainstream bread and butter family sedan for Maesima. In most markets it was offered in four trim levels available in saloon, or estate body styles from entry level _X_z, to mid-spec Tz, mid-spec ST and top-spec ST-Z.

All models were FWD setup with drivetrain options consisting of two variants of the all-alloy I4 MCJ-engine a ‘Eco’ 1.4L offered on the _X_z trim. and a 2.0L version available as standard on Tz, ST trms and as an option to _X_z models. On the ST trim, a 2.3L version of the all-alloy V6 MCK-engine was offered as an option, while the ST-Z was fitted with the 3.0L variant. All engines were mated to either a 6-speed G-16TM manual or 5-speed S-15TVL automatic transmission. As per Maesima culture, all models focus on achieving the goals of fuel economy, safety, reliability, fun and all at affordable costs to the customer!

what you had was very good looking and i would still love to see it, you have no need to worry or struggle.

Loving the ad it looks very professional and the car itself looks like a combination of a Mazda 3 and an Audi A1 saloon, very well done.

##2008 American Eagle Automotive Orela
###Category: Small Coupe

The Budget-Minded car AEA built to try to dig out of their near bankruptcy from the failed 2005/6 muscle car.

It seats 4 with a standard cloth interior, and a standard CD player. It comes equipped with Anti-lock Brakes, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, and of course power steering. It also has other standard safety features.

This car is powered by AEA’s EcoTec I4 engine series. The EcoTec series is an all aluminum construction I4 with DOHC and 4 valves per cylinder. This particular engine is a 2.2L with MPFI that is rated at 115 hp @6000 rpm and 115 ft-lbs torque @3000 rpm (AEA has always under-rated their engines since the 1960s.) That engine is backed by a 5 speed manual transmission, and it has 275mm 2 piston disk brakes up front, drums in the rear, to stop safely with.

It is not a turbo, despite the lettering on the valve cover

###This car will get you around 28 mpg (us). So you can save money on gas,
###…And you can save money on the car, as it will only cost you $13,970 brand new!

Plenty of decent entries, but no small convertibles at all so far. Here’s mine: the Harris CMC II. It replaced the original Harris CMC and the trim shown here is the base model, the 1.5. It may have less than 150 bhp, but it’s enough for an entry-level roadster, and its engine revs to 8500 rpm, enticing new drivers to make the most of what little power it has.

At an estimated price of just $15510 (including a 10% markup) it was very affordable to young enthusiasts as well.

@Darkshine5 ahem sorry to break the news but. the rules said no 4x4.

decisions decisions. super eco hatch, a convertible, or a compact sedan…

4x4 is not allowed as stated in the rules, neither is AWD or turbos or over 150 bhp.

you will find it as a FWD. it is a crossover SUV not a 4x4 I messed up my tech sheet :confounded:
It is not turbo!? The speed options are there as an advertising campaign, if you had checked the files on the car that i PM’d you you would see that the base model i have sent you ie: the stock power is 150hp!

However ANZhotrods builds cars for the buyers so we will try again
