THE RESULTS ARE IN! (way to late)
In of the 11 contestants that were successfully scored by the me, they are placed as follows;
11. Smooth Wort Sport with 44 points.
I walked in to the dealership and a mid sized hatchback caught my eye, it had concept car looks and a great exauhst system. There was only one problem however, the price, it was right up against my $25,000 new budget and the looks did not grow on me as I had hoped, so I placed this car at the back of my mind and tried to forget it as soon as possible.
10. Petoskey Legion SE with 53 points
The legion looked decent enough from the other end of the used car showroom, but up close it was just a generic 90s sedan with little to no personality or individuality, the green colour made it look even less pleasing, the only saving grace with the Legion was the 2.3l v6, it made a nice noise while serving up decent power. However it is still a 90s sedan.
9. FOA White Knight with 71.3 points
This car caught my eye, but not in a good way, however ugly it was, it made it up with Frued Am Fahren (sheer driving pleasure for those who do not speak German)
8. Centauri Spike RS with 76.3 points
Looking through the window, there was nothing immediately eye catching about this car but I decided I would go in and take a look anyway, I liked what I saw and booked a test drive, I was not wholly impressed with the performance nor the handling but it was quite cheap, I think this is on my shortlist.
7. Maesima Avellca with 77 points
(Ok back to real life, I personally wanted this car to win but the initial model I received didnā€™t have any door handles so I deducted one Mark for each missing handle) The shop window was filled with these cars and all at very good prices, going in I saw just how sumptuous the interior looked in all of its leather quilted glory, on the road it also impressed with excellent handling, I loved this car.
6. Harris CMC with 83.7 points
The Harris CMC was a lovely little roadster with very few downsides if any. It looked great, sounded great and drove great.
5. Vagabundo 610
This car was the ideal choice for someone like me living in a cramped city, but it had a few key downsides, it was ugly and drove like a boat, a very, very, very small boat with wheels, the boot was tiny and the engine drove me mad when I put my foot down, it produced such a racket and shrill screech that after the test drive my ears were still ringing.
4. AEA Orela
The Orela did not look like anything special or hogging the attention but, in every way, felt like a desperate attempt by a company in deep financial trouble in every way imaginable.
3. Dragotec Rogue with 101 points
The little rogue was an almost perfect car, in fact by the end of the test drive I was saying to myself ā€˜that car is a lovely little rogueā€™ but it was still far from the best I tested.
2. Bogliq Kitten Sport with 107 points
The kitten sport was a very un assuming little sedan, but when you put your foot down you realise why it is called sport. Must I say any more.

  1. Komodo 5-XM WINNER with 116 points.
The Komodo sat in the corner with the headlights on and engine running, I sat inside the carā€™s soft leather bucket style seats and prepared to be amazed. The acceleration was truly brilliant for a car of such low power, I was sold instantly.

Congratulations to @koolkei for winning the challenge overall. However, I did not expect to win or perform poorly, so a midpack finish seems about reasonable. My car was definitely a legitimate contender for class honors at least.

Nice! Second place!!!

Congrats @koolkei for a long awaited win

I think my mistake was making a car that parents would want for their child, rather than what the child would want. Congratulations @koolkei.

This solidifies it.

Well a miata knockoff

And my winning streak continues! Muahahahahaha
And thx @camkerman for hosting this

I think I kinda of fell into that trap too. Although also seems I also made the mistake of still having a mod installed that the base game had already adopted resulting in a few missing door handles on my initial entry :stuck_out_tongue: Anyway congratulations to @koolkei and thanks to @CamKerman for hosting.

Iā€™m aware this challenge technically had classes, but how many cars were there in your segment?

I was the only true convertible to be scored in the contest. Include coupes (one each by @TR8R and @koolkei) and that makes three genuine sports cars in the field of 11.

at least my boat should be among the best scoring in drivability, comfort, economy, and acceleration  congrats to koolkei!

New competition coming soon (hopes that hard drive does not go to dust just after the deadline again)

congratulations! and cheers to @CamKerman for hosting this!

Lastly, before the new competition opens, I would like to congratulate everyone on their entries, I was thoroughly impressed by most and had great fun reviewing the entries.

lol I think I forgot to send you the mini muscle car

bugger blast and f -it lol

yes I do belive so

Realism Challenge 2- Hot Hatchback
Now, before we begin, I know that we have had a wealth of hot hatch challenges on these forums before, but I am going to run my own one, with my own rules.
It can only be in the hot hatch class but can be of any size wheelbase up to 2.75m
You can choose a 4 door car but you must make it look like a hatchback (use paint and black stripes to cover up original boot line and black stripes to make a new one)
You will be competing with the new Honda Civic Type R and the 2017 Ford Focus RS you will have a $50,000 cost limit with a 10% markup (no factory settings
You can use FF or FAWD setups and the year will be 2015.
it must
have over 250bhp
not use more than 6 cylinders
not have quality above +7 or -3
you must
naming is the same but change the number to 2.

The next challenge will be to build a hot hatch - a really hot one if desired. This reminds me of the BTCC, which actually features a good number of FWD hatches, except that we will all be building road carsā€¦

already done look above your post

Thank you for providing the rules. I expect there to be a decent amount of leeway (there have been six-cylinder hot hatches in the past, and a few current cars even use AWD)

For reference, 250 bhp is what the Renault Sport Megane started life with (it now has 275).

just a suggestion but I really think you should update the rules on page one as the above rules will be harder to find once you get a few responses

How? And do we have a cost or production time limit?
