Would be nice if i can Only can Make an Platform and my Virtual Customer can customize his new Car at the Dealer.
So i build an Platform/Default Model and mark Engines and Options (Standard Heater,AC, Automatic AC, Cassete Radio/CD Radio and so on) which are also available on this Platform. Than i can Set the upcharge for each.
Example my Default Model from this Platform costs 22.000€ with the 1.4L Enginge and Standard Heater. So i can set a upcharge for AC(500€) and the 2.0L Engine(1.000€)
So my virtual Customer buys this Car with this Options so my costs 23.500€.
So i have Only one Default Car/Model to Build. And let the Customer Decide which Options he want.
And than i can make Special Models of this Car. Like the Same Car but with an Special 3.0L Engine which must have an Special Front for the Cooling.
Would also be nice if i can Build Packages for the Options and Name these Packages.
Like Active, Sports, Aero…
Example the Sports Package has an 2,0L Engine included+CD Radio+AC and Costs only 23.000€ so it is cheaper than Customer customization.
The Active Variant has an 1,4L Engine and Cassette Radio and Standard Heater.
So my Virtual Customer can decide if he Takes customised Car where he Pays for every Option. Or he Takes this Car with an Package.
In short: The decision the devs made for the interior packages, doesn’t line up with what you are suggesting here. I kind of went through that in the topic stated above.
Not so sure about that, I would think “That’d be tedious!” instead, having to set all the options/trim levels for your cars. Lots of micromanagement for very little added gameplay.

I think you misunderstood, as doesn’t Automation already have this option? Like you have Platform and them model. So isn’t model kind of like the trim level also? So, for say one car (PLATFORM) you have say if you want, 3 models say a basic cheap 4cyl, a mid spec 4cyl and maybe a top spec 4cyl???
I didn’t mean a lot of micro management and it’s completely up to the player how many models they have per a platform and what “features” those models have, that’s what I was trying to get at.
Sure, it is possible to do that right now if you wish, although not something that you would want do to the extreme. The game flow will be optimized for having a few reasonably different models per platform. We’re not going more in-depth than that because it would break flow and not add much to gameplay, as well as cost quite a bit of development time.

I don’t think that it would add too much micromanagement to be able to design the basic car and set it’s cost to be 20000$
Then add option motor 1 = +1500$
Option motor 2 = +3000$
Interior upgrade 1 (from basic to luxury) = 1000$
Etc.
In my opinion there will be much more micromanagement if you need to create bunch of new models to be able to cover all different variations for different motor/equipment combinations.
This way you’ll only need one for the except if you want to build GTI -model with different brakes etc. Wouldn’t be so bad gameplay wise and this way customer could choose what to buy. Another thing once again is how to balance the customers in game to decide which kind of combinations could be succesfull.
Edit: you could also sell one model around the world with the most basic model to be succesfull in the poorest countries and top spec models in richer ones.
Also another thing. If you needed to revise a model you’ll only need to revise one model instead of revising multiple models. Once again less micromanagement IMO.
