So a little run down.
The colour is official Caterpillar yellow so its easy to fix scratches just go and buy a box of 12 official spray cans.
Equipped with Australian made bullbars and side roo bars and winch with two spare tyres 4 light hella high visibility lighting system. As this is a mine site vehicle all models come standard with front rear and side Australian Mining Industry Approved reflectors. The tow bar is rated at 3500Kg’s. The roof is fibreglass and removable in 2 minutes (4 quick release clamps and two people to lift it) underneath is the optional 5th wheel rated at 8000kg’s towing as well as the standard slide out tool boxes and the factory rollcage. under the corner of each rear guard is a water tank and in the center is the twin 60L fuel tanks.
True 4x4 runs through an Ford C10 Automatic gearbox with an Eaton transfer case attached which spins forged steel driveshafts into Eaton 10.5" front and rear differentials. Providing the power is a slightly modified Mercedes SOHC v8 from a 450SL now displacing 5.4L. We chose to use twin 2bbl carbs as we were not happy with the fuel distribution from a single 4bbl and the factory efi was a nightmare to work with. so by splitting a 4bbl carb we were able to achieve PERFECT cylinder air fuel ratios on all 8 cylinders. The carbs are Holley 350cfm units with manual chokes. The ignition has been replaced with a MSD unit and coil and two 12V batteries are standard equipment. Oh it it will run on fuel as low as 80oct.
What does this all mean? Well the best parts from various manufacturers have been used to create a powerful economical workhorse that if it does brake down are parts that every mechanic can work on and should be familiar with.
At Adenine, we understand that running a large corporation can be tricky. On one hand, you need to have the best tools for the job, and you need to keep your employees satisfied. On the other, you need to worry about minimizing expenses, so your bottom line can stay in the black. But why limit yourself to one or the other? Why not have both? That’s our philosophy here at Adenine, and there’s no better way to show this than our new commercial work wagon, the 1986 Adenine Exceed.
With its impressive fuel economy of 9.4 L/100km, the Exceed has running costs of under $2000 per year and will save you hundreds of thousands of dollars in the long run compared to your old vehicle. In fact, it won’t be surprising if every Exceed in your fleet pays for itself over time. But that’s not all. You get a spacious interior with plenty of room for people and cargo. You get AWD for dependable traction both on the road and off. You get a 4-speed automatic transmission for convenience and utility. And you still get plenty of performance for all your hauling (and other) needs.
The magic is all made possible by our signature 2.9L turbo six, courtesy of Inline Designs. Featuring multi-point fuel injection and a SOHC 24-valve design, the engine is highly efficient, silky smooth, and deceptively powerful. In fact, despite producing less peak horsepower and torque than your old V8, you’ll find that it actually has a better overall performance index, due to its wide and flat powerband. We understand that the new technology may be quite foreign to your mechanics, which is why we’ll be happy to train them on how to properly maintain our engine. You don’t have to fear new technology - embrace it!
Your off-road wagon is great, but there’s one problem: the basic steel ladder frame and body panels won’t provide much environmental resistance. I used corrosion-resistant steel for both in my entry, hoping that it would be worth the extra cost.
Really? You’re not the host of this round, so that’s not for you to decide. Furthermore, nothing was said in the rules about environmental resistance, so there’s a real risk that you’re talking up something completely irrelevant as you have done a number of times so far already.
This would be a more appropriate way of phrasing it… if anybody here wasn’t so diluted by the sheer volume of posts you make in this thread that they had a ‘give a flying fuck’ factor of above zero. Not everything you post is rubbish, but you gotta slow down mate.
I don’t like you commenting on entrants before deadline (and that’s not the first post about that)… basically you just said no to everyone who send in the car and that does not help the usual “hype” before the revel. In most polite way possible, why don’t you save it for the reviews.
the excel based reviews are done. but the blurbs are quite a bit away.
when i said just 2 paragraph for each car from each of use turned into a full page for each car from each of us, because “NOT ENOUGH CONTENT”. yeah, we have a delay.
I’m used to submitting stuff for challenges like this and I certainly prefer waiting for an in-depth review over a quick one. So I hope you guys feel the same way.
Now about that I’ve been wondering would people prefer to get the reviews as we do them or wait for us to submit all the results at once?
I always would wait until I have all entries as then I can simply click between them when reviewing.
