The Car Shopping Round (Round 64): Tears in Heaven

I saw how the body curved at the top and how it connected with the rear wing support and made the top portion and then feeling like it needed a bit more there i added the lower lights, which also feature the 1111 designation in them.

The 1111 is clearly one of the meanest-looking machines you, or anyone, has ever built, but I am not sure it will be good enough to sway Mr. Vercetti with so little drivability… It is, however, a nearly unbeatable car in a one-lap time trial around a track. The thought of sacrificing too much drivability and/or comfort for the sake of sportiness and prestige was too much for me to bear…

what is the deadline status i wanna submit

I believe the deadline for this round has already passed, youll have to wait till next round to take part.

welp this was my concept car for this round. if you thought it was a 4 cylinder car and that you can overtake it. you thought wrong, all it needs is to downshift and you are a tiny dot.

the engine

Please don’t double post, you can attach several files to a single post.

Happily that huge grille is there for cooling the engine. It does not lead into the passenger compartment, otherwise waterproofing would be the least of the car’s problems.

Also those are some impressive stats, well played. Looking back, I can see how you got there (or at least a way to get close), but it’s always easier to match than to take the lead. At least mine is a touch quicker. Truthfully I could have used more than an hour and a half to build innards for the Poseidon, but time’s limited these days.

On a only somewhat related note… Two door coupes get a 6.3% bonus to prestige and 6.3% more for two seats. What? What about the Maybach? Four door Phantom? Since when has it become less prestigious to have a chauffeur than to drive yourself around?

That’s a good point, but it would be difficult to include a bonus for Prestige for four door 4 plus seats when that’s also the main config for family sedans. Are you suggesting removing the Prestige bonus for less doors and seats?

In most cases, fewer doors/seats having higher prestige makes sense. It’s only in the Luxury and Luxury Superior segments where that doesn’t make sense. So the logical solution is to add an additional desirability factor, like “4 doors: 10%” to those markets only. @Killrob

Might make sense to have a bonus to 4 door/4+ seat car Prestige only with a Luxury or Hand Made interior. It seems like that should balance itself reasonably well with the extra money and weight tied to these extra seats.

Which sounds more flashy? A Rolls Royce Phantom or a Lamborghini Aventador? Both are high end, but one definitely leaves a larger impression.

Depends on who you ask, I guess.

I guess Prestige on the basis of being the inverse of practicality is the main concept (New calculations change weighting of practicality greatly, aiding differentiation of demographic targets). In light of that the Prestige bonus is relatively small compared to material choice, layout, engine displacement…

The way prestige is currently calculated explained my decision to build a two-door, two-seat hypercar with a huge engine and 100% carbon fiber construction - and unsurprisingly, there were a few other users who thought likewise. Unsurprisingly, I chose to up the prestige factor even more with a luxury interior and infotainment system, but this added lots of weight, although the extra mass increased the drivability somewhat.

Howler knows that, what they’re concerned about is whether it should be like that or not.

Maybe if they end up introducing longer wheelbase vehicles along the lines of the Maybach and Rolls Royce or perhaps even actual limousines that gave a similar prestige bonus that might help.

having car too light hurting drivability too much, sure they’re prestigous and more faster than alumunium but if your car followed with track setup like most car do here it’ll end disaster for your drivability stats. personally to balance that i use AHS space frame and carbon fiber panel since its more lighter than my aluminium body setup without losing too many stats

The silent suspense is killing meeeeeeeee!
